Vesting the Control of Resting-place for Travelling Stock Reserves in the Marlborough County Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 13th day of December, 1926.

Present :

THE HONOURABLE W. DOWNIE STEWART PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the lands described in the Schedule hereto have been permanently reserved for resting-places for travelling stock: And whereas it is expedient that the control of the said reserves should be vested in the Marlborough County Council :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section two of the Public Reserves and Domains Amendment Act, 1914, doth hereby vest the control of the said reserves in the Marlborough County Council.

SCHEDULE.

MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT.

SECTION 1, Block XV, Patriarch Survey District: Area, 8 acres 1 rood.

Also Section 4, Block XVI, Patriarch Survey District: Area, 5 acres.

ON the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase Board, referred to in section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise of the power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby prohibit, for the period of one year from the date of this Order in Council, all alienation of the Native lands specified in the Schedule hereto other than alienation in favour of the Crown.

A Post-office where Miners' Rights may be issued.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by the Mining Act, 1926, and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare the post-office at Naseby to be a post-office at which miners' rights may be issued by the Postmaster in charge of such post-office.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 14th day of December 1926.

Opening Settlement Lands in Otago Land District for Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the settlement lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Wednesday, the twenty-sixth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Acts.

SCHEDULE.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.—SETTLEMENT LAND.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.

Clutha County.—Pomahaka and Waipahi Survey District.—Wairuna Settlement.

SECTION 1s: Area, 2,004 acres. Capital value, £2,400. Half-yearly rent, £60.

Section 2s: Area, 553 acres. Capital value, £1,760. Half-yearly rent, £44.

Wairuna Settlement is situated about three miles from Waipahi Railway-station on the Southern Trunk Railway, access from which is by formed road. The land is of very fair quality, and produces good grass, oat, and turnip crops, the country being of an easy rolling nature. Section 1 has a frontage to the Pomahaka River and the Wairuna Stream.

Improvements.

The improvements included in the capital values of the sections consist of boundary and subdivisional fencing valued as follows: Section 1, £92 11s. 6d.; Section 2, £24 14s.

Improvements not included in the capital value, but which have to be paid for separately in cash, are as follows: Section 1: Dwellinghouse, stable, and barn, £220; fencing, £66 7s: total, £286 7s. Section 2: Stable, £10; fencing, £322 16s.; culverts, £5: total, £337 16s.

Clutha County.—Clutha and Pomahaka Survey Districts.—Clifton Settlement.

SECTION 3s: Area, 486 acres. Capital value, £3,900; *£250. Half-yearly rent, £97 10s.; †£9 15s.

Section 5s: Area, 416 acres. Capital value, £3,280; *£500. Half-yearly rent, £82; †£19 10s.

Section 10s: Area, 500 acres. Capital value, £3,250. Half-yearly rent, £81 5s.

Section 13s: Area, 747 acres. Capital value, £5,790; *£1,000. Half-yearly rent, £144 15s.; †£39.

Section 14s: Area, 419 acres. Capital value, £2,520; *£300. Half-yearly rent, £63; †£11 14s.

Section 16s: Area, 452 acres. Capital value, £3,620. Half-yearly rent, £90 10s.

Section 20s: Area, 391 acres. Capital value, £3,280; *£250. Half-yearly rent, £82; †£9 15s.

  • Buildings payable in cash or by half-yearly instalments.

† Half-yearly instalment on buildings.

CONDITION OF LAND.

Section 3s: 62 acres in turnips, 48 acres in oats, 64 acres in permanent grass and rape. Balance in good pasture. Subdivided into seven paddocks.

Section 5s: 64 acres in oats, 40 acres in rape, 40 acres in turnips. Balance good pasture. Subdivided into seven paddocks.

Section 10s: 50 acres in turnips, 80 acres in oats, 23 acres in rape and grass. Balance in fair pasture. Subdivided into eight paddocks.

Section 13s: Homestead section—80 acres in oats, 83 acres being sown in grass and rape, 100 acres being sown in western wolths and crested dogstail, 75 acres turnips. Balance in good pasture. Subdivided into fifteen paddocks.

Section 14s: 30 acres in oats, 20 acres in turnips, 92 acres in good pasture, 183 acres in medium pasture. Balance in natural state. Subdivided into six paddocks.

Section 16s: 186 acres wolths and cow-grass, 170 acres in good pasture. Balance good natural grass (in five paddocks).

Section 20s: 25 acres oats, 30 acres turnips, approximately 290 acres in good pasture. Subdivided into seven paddocks.

Improvements.

The improvements included in the capital values of the sections consist of boundary and subdivisional fencing and plantations as follows:—

Section 3s: 380 chains fencing valued at £291.
