Appointment of Deputy District Public Trustee.
NOTICE is hereby given that, in pursuance of the power and authority vested in me by section 3 of the Public Trust Office Amendment Act, 1921–22, I, the Public Trustee of the Dominion of New Zealand, have appointed
Daniel Scannell,
of the Public Trust Office, Hamilton, to be Deputy of the District Public Trustee, Hamilton, during the absence of such District Public Trustee from his headquarters; and all previous appointments in this behalf are hereby revoked.

His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to abolish, under section 6 (a), Defence Act, 1909, the existing designation of the 2nd Cadet Battalion, the Hauraki Regiment, and to approve that such unit be redesignated the “4th Cadet Battalion, the Hawke’s Bay Regiment,” with headquarters at Gisborne. Dated 2nd August, 1926.

Election of Member of Canterbury Land Board.
I, WILLIAM STEWART, Returning Officer for the election of a member of the Canterbury Land Board, do hereby notify, in accordance with the provisions of section 47 of the Land Act, 1924, and the regulations made thereunder, that the only person nominated for the vacancy occurring on the said Board was David Stowell, Esq., of Timaru. I do therefore declare that the said

Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
Pursuant to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Ponatahi Special-rating Area taken on the 2nd day of October, 1926, on the proposal of the Wairarapa Electric-power Board to borrow the sum of three thousand pounds for the purpose of providing additional funds for works, buildings, land, and equipment necessary in connection with the generation, distribution, and utilization of electric energy within the Wairarapa Electric-power District,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 6; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 1.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
