Elephant Hill River District constituted, County of Waimate.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the River Boards Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that, as on and from the date of publication of this Proclamation in the Gazette, that part of the said Dominion described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby constituted a district under the said Act, and shall be known by the name of the Elephant Hill River District; and that the number of members who are to constitute the Board of the said district shall be seven.
And I do also proclaim and declare that Llewellyn John Collins, of Waimate, shall be the Returning Officer to conduct the first election of seven members of the aforesaid Board; that Wednesday, the thirteenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six, shall be the day, and the Waimate County Council Chambers at Waimate shall be the place, for holding such first election; and that Saturday, the twenty-third day of October, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six, at two o’clock in the afternoon, shall be the time, and the said Waimate County Council Chambers shall be the place, at which the first meeting of the members of the Board of the said Elephant Hill River District shall be held; and, lastly, I do proclaim and declare that the said Llewellyn John Collins, of Waimate, shall be the person to make a roll of electors for the purpose of the aforesaid first election, in the manner prescribed by section eight of the said Act.

SCHEDULE.
ELEPHANT HILL RIVER DISTRICT.
ALL that land situated in the survey districts of Elephant Hill and Waitaki, containing 11,707 acres or thereabouts, commencing at a point on the Glenavy–Redcliff Road at the south-west corner of Rural Section 18181, Elephant Hill Survey District, and following the boundary of the said Rural Section 18181 about north to the Elephant Hill Road; thence along the road easterly on the boundary of the said Rural Section 18181 and Rural Section 8921; thence about north along the eastern side of the road on the boundary of Section 1, Block XI, Elephant Hill Survey District, to the Redcliff Back Road; thence towards the east generally along the Redcliff Back Road and the Pikes Point Road to the road on the north-west boundary of Section 4, Waikakahi Settlement, Block XI, Waitaki Survey District; thence generally along this latter road to the south-western corner of Section 4, Waikakahi Settlement, Block XI, Waitaki Survey District; thence generally east along the southern boundaries of Sections 4, 5, and 6 respectively, Waikakahi Settlement, Block XI, Waitaki Survey District; thence generally north along the eastern boundary of Section 6, Waikakahi Settlement; and thence generally east along the southern boundary of Lot 107, Block XIV, Waitaki Survey District, to and along the Main South Road and the road forming the eastern frontage of Lot 109, to the Glenavy–Redcliff Road; thence generally westerly along that road and along the Middle Road to the Cock and Hen Road; and thence along the Cock and Hen Road about south to the Glenavy–Redcliff Road, and thence about west along that road to the commencing-point.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 18th day of September, 1926.
