And whereas in the opinion of the Governor-General it is expedient to exchange the settlement land described in Part I of the Schedule hereto for the land of equal value described in Part II of the said Schedule, and the owner of the land described in the second part of the said Schedule has agreed to such exchange:

Now, therefore, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said section seventy-four, do hereby authorize the exchange of the settlement land described in Part I of the Schedule hereto for the land described in Part II of the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

PART I.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, situated in the Borough of Lower Hutt, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 39·7 perches, more or less, being part of Section 22, Hutt Registration District, and being Section 3 of Block XV of the Hutt Valley Settlement.

PART II.

All that area in the Wellington Land District, situated in the Borough of Lower Hutt, containing by admeasurement 3 roods 13·3 perches, more or less, being part of Section 26, Hutt Registration District, being Lot 4 on deposited plan No. 1881; also other part of said Section 26, and being the whole of the land comprised in certificate of title, Volume 272, folio 23, Wellington Registry.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 30th day of August, 1926.

Notifying Land in Wellington Land District for Sale by Public Auction for Cash or on Deferred Payments.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and thirty-two of the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Tuesday, the 21st day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-six, as the time at which the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction for cash or on deferred payments; and I do hereby fix the price at which the said land shall be sold as that mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—TOWN LAND.

City of Wellington.

Lots 1 and 2 of Section 3, Block IV, Thorndon Reclamation: Area, 15·46 perches; upset price, £10,000.

This property is situated in Featherston Street, in the City of Wellington, between the Wellesley Club building and the Dominion Farmers Institute building. It has a frontage of 49·57 ft. to Featherston Street.

Special Condition.—The area will be sold subject to a party-wall agreement now existing between the Dominion Farmers Institute (Limited) and the Crown, and intending purchasers must make themselves familiar with the terms of the agreement, which may be perused on application.

Land temporarily reserved in the Wellington Land District as an Addition to a Site for a Public School.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-fifty-ninth section of the Land Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Wellington Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written, as an addition to a site for a public-school.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area situated in the Rongotea Town District, Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 acres 1 rood 34·7 perches, more or less, being portions of roads adjoining Sections 272 to 277, 280 to 289, and 344 to 363, Town of Rongotea (being formerly part Section 28, Douglas Block, situated in Block VIII, Te Kawau Survey District) as closed by Proclamation dated the 11th day of June, 1926, and gazetted on the 17th day of June, 1926. As the same is delineated on plan numbered 162/14, deposited in the Wellington District Office, Department of Lands and Survey, and thereon coloured green.

Vesting the Control of a Scenic Reserve in the Northcote Borough Council.

CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby revoke a Warrant dated the thirty-first day of August, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five, and published in the Gazette of the third day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five, appointing a special Board by the name of the Northcote Scenic Board to have control of the Northcote Scenic Reserve, and doth hereby vest the control of the said scenic reserve as described in the Schedule hereto (being land reserved under the said Act) in the Northcote Borough Council, subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say:—

  1. The period for which the control of the reserve is hereby vested shall be five years from the date hereof, unless the reservation is previously altered or revoked under the said Act.

  2. The said Council shall prepare a report each year ending on the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of receipts and expenditure in connection with the said reserve. Such report and statement shall be sent to the Minister charged with the administration of the said Act as soon as possible after the close of the year.

  3. The said Council shall control the said reserve in accordance with the provisions of the said Act, and of the regulations made thereunder.

SCHEDULE.

NORTHCOTE SCENIC RESERVE.

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 24 acres 0 roods 6·2 perches, more or less, being Allotment 8, Parish of Takapuna, and part Lot 29 of Allotment 7, Parish of Takapuna. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan marked L. and S. 4/386, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. North Auckland plans: 22493 (blue) and D.P. 2658 (green).
