The total births registered for the urban areas amounted to 1,030, as against 1,033 in May—a decrease of 3. The deaths in June were 528—an increase of 45 as compared with the previous month. Of the total deaths males contributed 306, females 222. Seventy of the deaths were of children under five years of age, being 14·40 per cent. of the whole number. Forty-seven of these were under one year of age.

The equivalent annual rates per 1,000 of mean population for June, 1926, and six months ended June, 1926, were as follows. The infantile-mortality rate per 100 births for the same period is also given.
