ngaehu Road Special-rating District of the County of Wanga-
nui was taken on the 22nd day of December, 1925, on the
proposal of the Wanganui County Council to borrow the sum
of £2,000 for the purpose of metalling the Wangaehu Road in
the Upper Wangaehu Riding.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 23 ;
the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 3.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Dated this 6th day of January, 1926.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

Wellington, 18th January, 1926.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the
Board of the Whangamarino Road District, is published
in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans
Act, 1913.

WHANGAMARINO ROAD BOARD.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913,
I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of Wae-
renga No. 2 Special-rating Area of the Whangamarino Road
District taken on the 8th day of January, 1926, on the pro-
posal of the Whangamarino Road Board to borrow the sum
of £800 for the purpose of acquiring Couper’s quarry, a part
of Section 100, Parish of Whangamarino, County of Waikato,
and a road leading thereto, and for metalling the said road,
and also for metalling the road leading to Okaeria quarry,
situate in Blocks VI and X, Piako Survey District,—

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 95 ;
the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 7.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block III, Pihanga
Survey District, for the Purpose of a Fish-hatchery Site.


NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the
provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute
a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a fish-
hatchery; and for the purposes of such public work the
land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken.
And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the
land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office
at Tokaanu, and is there open for inspection; and that
all persons affected by the execution of the said public work
or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-
grounded objections to the execution of the said public work
or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing,
and send such writing, within forty days from the first pub-
lication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at
Wellington.


SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of land required to be
taken :—

A. R. P. Being Portion of
7 3 0 Ohuanga North No. 1 ; coloured yellow.

deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at
Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon
coloured as above mentioned.

Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries of Sluggish
River Drainage District.


Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 15th December, 1925.

IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented
to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the
Land Drainage Act, 1908, praying that the area described in
the Schedule hereto may be excluded from the Oroua Drain-
age District and included in the Sluggish River Drainage
District. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge
any written objections to or petitions against the proposed
alteration of boundaries which they desire to lodge within one
month from the first publication of this notice, such objections
or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs,
Wellington.


SCHEDULE.

AREA PROPOSED TO BE INCLUDED IN SLUGGISH RIVER
DRAINAGE DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District bounded by a
line commencing at the north-western corner of Section 140,
Township of Carnarvon, Block VI, Te Kauwau Survey
District; thence south-easterly along the road forming the
northern boundaries of Sections 140, 141, and 142, Township
of Carnarvon, to the north-eastern corner of the last-
mentioned section; thence south-westerly along the road
forming the eastern boundary of Sections 142, 147, 366, and
148, Township of Carnarvon, to the south-eastern corner of
the last-mentioned section; thence north-westerly along
Taikoria Road to its intersection with the Foxton-Sandon
Tramway; thence north-easterly along that tramway to the
north-western corner of Section 154, Township of Carnarvon ;
thence south-easterly along the northern boundary of the said
Section 154 to its north-eastern corner; thence north-easterly
along the western boundaries of Sections 147 and 140 aforesaid
to the north-western corner of the last-mentioned section,
the place of commencement.
