Light to be converted from Watched to Automatic Unwatched.

INFORMATION is hereby given that the existing watched light situated at Cape Foulwind in latitude 41° 45′ S., longitude 171° 28′ E., will be converted to automatic unwatched during the month of July, 1926.

Existing characteristics will continue unaltered.

Further notice concerning height, range, &c., and the precise date on which the conversion is to be made will be given.

Unclaimed Property.—Notice under Part III of the Public Trust Office Act, 1908, and its Amendments.

THE Public Trustees hereby gives notice, pursuant to the provisions of Part III of the Public Trust Office Act, 1908, and its amendments, and of section 41 of the Public Trust Office Amendment Act, 1921, that he intends to take possession of all the real and personal property of Thomas Phare, formerly of Petone, in the Provincial District of Wellington, Bricklayer, but whose present whereabouts are unknown, and to exercise in respect of such property the other powers set forth in Part III of the Public Trust Office Act, 1908, and its amendments.

Notice by the Public Trustee declaring his Intention of taking Possession of and administering Property under Part III of the Public Trust Office Act, 1908, and its Amendments.

WHEREAS Edmund Ford, formerly of Christchurch, in the Provincial District of Canterbury, New Zealand, Drain-pipe Manufacturer, is entitled to a one-tenth (1/10th) share in Section 13696, Block 6, on map of Fighting Hill Survey District, containing 45 acres 2 roods 9 perches, more or less (hereinafter referred to as “the said property”):

And whereas it is not known where he is or whether he is alive or dead :

And whereas he has no known agent in New Zealand with authority to take possession of and administer the said property :

And whereas the Public Trustee has been requested to take possession of and administer the said property under Part III of the Public Trust Office Act, 1908, and the amendments thereof :

And whereas the value of the said property does not exceed £1,000 :

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the powers in that behalf conferred upon him by section 87 of the Public Trust Office Act, 1908, as amended by subsection (2) of section 41 of the Public Trust Office Amendment Act, 1921–22, the Public Trustee, with the consent of the Public Trust Office Board, hereby gives notice that he intends to take possession of the said property and to exercise in respect thereof the powers conferred upon him in and by Part III of the Public Trust Office Act, 1908, and the amendments thereof.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Riccarton, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

BOROUGH OF RICCARTON.

I HEREBY advise you that at a poll taken on Wednesday, the 5th of May, 1926, on a proposal to borrow the sum of £11,000 for the purpose of constructing concrete channelling, regrading and asphalting footpaths, laying drains and culverts, and general improvements within the South-west Area of the borough,—

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 41, and the number recorded against the proposal was 12.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

SOUTH CANTERBURY ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and section 51 of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, I hereby give notice that at a poll taken on the 12th day of May, 1926, of the ratepayers of the defined part of the South Canterbury Electric-power District, comprising all that part of the County of Waimate contained within the South Canterbury Electric-power District, and denominated the Waimate County Special Area, on the proposal of the South Canterbury Electric-power Board to raise a special loan of £81,000 for the construction of electric works, and such other matters as are provided for by the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, and for the exercise of the powers conferred on the said Board by sections 118, 119, and 120 of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, for the benefit of the said Waimate Special Area,—

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 286; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 67.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
