Special Order passed by the Wairoa County Council declaring Foxglove, Bathurst Burr, and Variegated Thistle to be Noxious Weeds.-Notice No. Ag. 2576.

THE following special order made by the Wairoa County Council is published in accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act.

SPECIAL ORDER.

In exercise of the powers conferred on it by the Noxious Weeds Act, 1908, the Wairoa County Council hereby resolves and declares by way of special order that the plants mentioned in the Schedule hereto (being plants mentioned in the Third Schedule of the said Act, as extended from time to time by the Governor-General in Council) are noxious weeds within the County of Wairoa.

Schedule.

Foxglove (Digitalis purpurea).

Bathurst burr (Xanthium spinosum).

Variegated thistle.

The above special order was passed at a special meeting of the Wairoa County Council on 12th March, 1926, and confirmed at a subsequent meeting of the Council on 9th April, 1926.

NEW CAR AND WAGON SHOPS AT OTAHUHU NEAR AUCKLAND.

WRITTEN tenders will be received up to noon on the 30th September, 1926, at the office of the Railway Board, Wellington, New Zealand, for the erection of new car and wagon workshops at Otahuhu, near Auckland.

AMPLIFYING Notice to Mariners No. 14 of 1926, dated 29th March, 1926, information has been received from the Harbourmaster, Apia, to the effect that the characteristics and range of visibility of the front leading-beacon light at Apia has been altered from fixed red to flashing white 2 seconds, flash ½ second, visible 5 miles.
