Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Board of the Poverty Bay Electric-power District, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

POVERTY BAY ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the Poverty Bay Electric-power Board District taken on the 24th day of March, 1926, on the proposal of the Poverty Bay Electric-power Board to borrow the sum of £280,000 for the electrification of the Poverty Bay Electric-power Board District in such manner as detailed in the voting-paper used at the poll,—

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 1,203; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 244.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, notice is hereby given that the poll taken on the 23rd March, 1926, upon the proposal to borrow £3,350 for the purpose of making and restar-sealing the main highway through the town district, and for reforming parts of Napier Street, Gisborne Terrace, and Havelock Street (including culvert and tar-sprayer and boiler), resulted as follows:—

For the proposal, 30; against the proposal, 27: informal, 2.

I therefore declare the proposal carried.

PIAKO COUNTY COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Irwin’s Hill to Horrell’s Road Special-rating Area in the County of Piako was taken on the 5th day of March, 1926, on the proposal of the Piako County Council to borrow the sum of £1,450 for the purpose of metalling for the first time the Tahuna-Morrinsville Road from the centre of Irwin’s Hill to Horrell’s Bridge.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 6; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 3.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Inscribed Stock, maturing 15th November, 1927, will be closed from the 1st May to the 15th May, 1926 (inclusive), for the purpose of the issue of half-yearly interest.

Amending Restricted Limits for the Port of Auckland.

Marine Department,
Wellington, 9th April, 1926.

WHEREAS by Warrant dated the 22nd day of May, 1925, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 40, of the 28th day of the same month, limits were defined for the Port or Harbour of Auckland within which restricted-limit steamships and ships propelled by mechanical power other than steam, and to which restricted limit certificates are issued, might ply:

And whereas it is desirable that the limits therein defined for the Port or Harbour of Auckland be amended:

Now, therefore, I, George James Anderson, Minister of Marine, in pursuance and exercise of the power conferred upon me by section 189 of the Shipping and Seamen Act, 1908, do hereby revoke the aforesaid Warrant of the 22nd day of May, 1925, and do hereby define the following limits in substitution thereof:—

River Limits.—Inside Rangitoto Reef, Motukoreho Channel, Motuihi Channel, inside a right line drawn from Home Bay Point to the northern point of the entrance to Maiteatea Bay, Tamaki Strait, not beyond Koherunti Point, and inside Waiheke Channel.

Extended River Limits.—All those waters of the Hauraki Gulf inside a right line drawn from the north point of Cabbage (Colville) Bay, on the Coromandel Peninsula, to Shearer Rock, off Tiritiri Island, and thence to Tawharanui Point.
