Land in Wellington Land District forfeited.

NOTICE is hereby given that the license of the under-mentioned land having been declared forfeited by resolution of the Wellington Land Board, the said land has thereby reverted to the Crown under provisions of the Land Act, 1924.

NOTICE is hereby given that leases of the undermentioned sections will be offered for lease by public auction at the Courthouse, Gore, at 11 o’clock a.m., on Tuesday, the 12th January, 1926, under the provisions of the Education Reserves Act, 1908, and amendments, and section 5 (c) of the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908.

ABSTRACT OF CONDITIONS OF LEASE.

  1. A half-year’s rent at the rate offered, together with rent for the broken period from the date of the sale to the 30th June, 1926, and lease and registration fees (£2 2s.) to be paid on the fall of the hammer.

  2. The term of the lease is twenty-one years, without right of renewal.

  3. At the end of term lease to be offered at auction for further term of twenty-one years, at rent to be fixed by arbitration, the incoming lessee to pay the value of improvements which is to be handed over to the outgoing lessee.

  4. No transfer or sublease allowed without consent of Land Board.

  5. Interest at rate of 10 per cent. per annum to be paid on rent in arrear.

  6. Consent of Land Board to be obtained before erecting any building or cutting up or subdividing the allotments.

  7. Lease will be registered under the Land Transfer Act.

  8. Lease is liable to forfeiture if conditions violated.

STATE FOREST SERVICE NOTICE.

Milling-timber for Sale by Public Tender.

State Forest Service,
Palmerston North, 30th November, 1925.

NOTICE is hereby given that written tenders for the purchase of the undermentioned milling-timber will close at the office of the State Forest Service, Palmerston North, at 4 o’clock p.m., on 30th December, 1925.

SCHEDULE.

WELLINGTON FOREST-CONSERVATION REGION.—HAWKE’S BAY LAND DISTRICT.

ALL the milling-timber on that parcel of land, containing approximately 188 acres, situated in Wakarara Survey District (State Forest No. 24). The block is about thirty miles from Waipawa by good metalled road.

The estimated quantity of timber in superficial feet is 4,604,900, made up as follows:—

Upset price, £7,114.

Ground-rent, £9 8s. per annum.

Time for removal of timber: Five years.

Terms of Payment.

A marked cheque for 10 per cent. of the tender, together with half-year’s ground-rent and £1 1s. license fee, must accompany the tender, and the balance be paid by sixteen equal quarterly instalments, the first of which shall be paid six months after the date of sale.

Terms and Conditions.

  1. All instalment-payments shall be secured by “on demand” promissory notes made and endorsed to the satisfaction of the Commissioner of State Forests, and interest at 1 per cent. in excess of current bank rates will be charged on all notes overdue from the date of maturity to the date of payment.

  2. The right to cut and remove the timber will be sold in accordance with the provisions of the Forests Act, 1921–22, the regulations in force thereunder, and these conditions.

  3. The attention of all tenderers is drawn to the fact that the local controlling body may require the successful tenderer to pay any claims or charges which may be made by that body for the maintenance of the road over which the timber may be transported, and before a sawmill license is issued a letter indicating that satisfactory arrangements have been made in this connection must be produced to the undersigned.

  4. Intending tenderers are expected to visit the locality and to satisfy themselves in every particular on all matters relative to the sale.

  5. Each tenderer must state the total price that he is prepared to pay for each species. The highest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted, and the timber described is submitted for sale subject to the final acceptance of the tender by the Commissioner of State Forests.

  6. The right is reserved to the Commissioner of State Forests to withdraw from sale any or all of the said timber either before or after the closing-date for receipt of tenders.

  7. If no tender is accepted for the timber herein mentioned, it will remain open for application at the upset price until further notice.

  8. Tenders should be on the special form obtainable from any office of the State Forest Service, and should be enclosed in envelopes addressed “Conservator of Forests, Palmerston North,” and endorsed “Tender for Timber.”
