James Scott Connell, Esq.,

to be the Registrar of Electors for the Electoral District of Wairarapa for the purposes of the Legislature Act, 1908, as from the 1st day of October, 1925.

Charles Edward Nalder, Esq.,

to be Commissioner of Stamp Duties for the purposes of the Stamp Duties Act, 1923, Registrar of Companies for the purposes of the Companies Act, 1908, and Registrar of Incorporated Societies for the purposes of the Incorporated Societies Act, 1908, as from the 1st day of October, 1925.

Kenneth Montrose Graham, Esq.,

to be Commissioner of Crown Lands and Chief Surveyor for the Auckland Land District, for the purposes of the Land Act, 1924, as from the 10th day of October, 1925.

Cecil Charles Hadden Scadden, Esq.,

to be an Inspector for the purposes of the Dairy Industry Act, 1908, as from the 9th day of October, 1925.

Robert Leslie Seed, Esq.,

to be an Inspector for the purposes of the Dairy Industry Act, 1908, as from the 5th day of October, 1925.

William Bailey, Esq.,

2ND N.Z. MOUNTED RIFLES (QUEEN ALEXANDRA’S WELLINGTON WEST COAST).

2nd Lieutenant A. D. Powdrell resigns his commission. Dated 10th September, 1925.

5TH N.Z. MOUNTED RIFLES (OTAGO HUSSARS).

The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) H. S. Jones is confirmed.

7TH N.Z. MOUNTED RIFLES (WELLINGTON EAST COAST).

Major E. H. Beamish is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 7. Dated 28th September, 1925.

9TH N.Z. MOUNTED RIFLES (NORTH AUCKLAND).

2nd Lieutenant (on probation) N. C. Shepherd, from the Taranaki Regiment, to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation). Dated 8th September, 1925.

The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) E. L. Walker is confirmed.

THE REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY.

2nd Lieutenant W. A. Sutton (11th Field Battery) resigns his commission. Dated 21st September, 1925.

THE N.Z. INFANTRY.

The North Auckland Regiment.

Captain S. B. Dunn, from the Southland Regiment, to be Captain (1st C. Battalion), with seniority as from the 12th August, 1925.

The Wellington West Coast Regiment.

Captain F. S. Varnham, M.C., from the Reserve of Officers, to be Captain (1st Battalion). Dated 29th September, 1925.

The appointments of the undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants (on probation), 1st Battalion, are confirmed :

The Hawke’s Bay Regiment.

Harold Alexander Kirby to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation), 1st C. Battalion. Dated 21st September, 1925.

The Taranaki Regiment.

2nd Lieutenant (on probation) N. C. Shepherd, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the 9th N.Z. Mounted Rifles (North Auckland). Dated 8th September, 1925.

The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) C. F. Norton, 1st Battalion, is confirmed.

The Canterbury Regiment.

The appointments of the undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants (on probation) are confirmed :

E. J. Wood (6th C. Battalion).
F. L. Simson, D.C.M. (4th C. Battalion).

John Duncan Henry Buchanan to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation), 1st C. Battalion. Dated 28th September, 1925.

The Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment.

Lieutenant C. J. R. Price (3rd C. Battalion) is transferred to the Southland Regiment. Dated 25th September, 1925.

The Otago Regiment.

Captain A. R. Cockerell, D.S.O. (1st Battalion), relinquishes his commission on appointment to the N.Z. Permanent Staff. Dated 1st July, 1925.

Lieutenant L. P. Mills (Bedfordshire Regiment), Reserve of Officers, Class II, is attached for duty to the 1st Battalion. Dated 1st June, 1925.

The Southland Regiment.

Lieutenant C. J. R. Price, from the Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment, to be Lieutenant (2nd C. Battalion), with seniority as from the 19th November, 1923.

Lieutenant A. Macdonald, M.C. (Retired List), to be Lieutenant (1st Battalion). Dated 23rd September, 1925.

Captain S. B. Dunn (2nd C. Battalion) is transferred to the North Auckland Regiment. Dated 28th September, 1925.

Lieutenant H. Crawford (1st Battalion) is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class II (b), R.D. 12. Dated 28th September, 1925.

N.Z. AIR FORCE.

The undermentioned are posted to the Retired List under the provisions of General Order No. 184/21, with permission to retain their rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 6th October, 1925.
