The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 86, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 19. The number of informal votes was 1.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
Pursuant to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Waipawa was taken on the 22nd day of January, 1925, on the proposal to borrow the sum of £350 for the installation of electric lighting in the municipal buildings at Waipawa.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 90, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 15. The number of informal votes was 1.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

PALMERSTON NORTH BOROUGH COUNCIL.
ELECTRIC LIGHT AND POWER PLANT LOAN NO. 4 OF £35,000.— RESOLUTION STRIKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Palmerston North Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Palmerston North Borough Electric Light and Power Plant Loan No. 4, of £35,000, authorized to be raised by the Palmerston North Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of enabling the said Council to apply the said sum towards the cost of completing the power-house station and reticulation, extending the transmission and distribution-lines, purchasing of plant, fittings, equipment, stocks, apparatus, machinery, meters, office fittings, and requisites, and to provide financial assistance to consumers to enable them to connect with the supply, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three-tenths (3/10ths) of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the whole of the Borough of Palmerston North; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Dacre Hamilton, Public Accountant, Oxford Street, Levin, on Friday, 13th February, 1925, at 2 o’clock in the afternoon, for the purpose of having an account laid before them, showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted, and the property of the company disposed of, and of hearing any explanation that may be given by the Liquidator, and also of determining by extraordinary resolution the manner in which the books, accounts, and documents of the company, and of the Liquidator thereof, shall be disposed of.
