Prohibition of Issue of Money-orders and Transmission of Postal Correspondence in New Zealand for F. Philips, Box 751, G.P.O., Wellington.

THE Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand having reasonable ground for supposing that the person whose name and address are shown in the Schedule hereunder is engaged in promoting or carrying out a lottery or scheme of chance, it is hereby ordered, under section 28 of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, that no money-order in favour of the said person shall be issued, and that no postal packet addressed to the said person (either by his own or any fictitious or assumed name), or addressed to the address in the Schedule hereunder without a name, shall be either registered or forwarded by the Post Office of New Zealand.

Defining Bay of Islands Extreme Limits for Vessels engaged in Deep-sea Sports-fishing.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 189 of the Shipping and Seamen Act, 1908, I, George James Anderson, Minister of Marine, do hereby define the Bay of Islands extreme limits within which vessels engaged in deep-sea sports-fishing, and to which restricted-limits certificates are issued, may ply to be—

All that area embraced within the undermentioned true bearings, lines, and distances in nautical miles :— From 1st May to 31st October (both dates inclusive), commencing where a circle of 13 miles radius from Cape Brett Lighthouse meets the shore westward of Ngatoka Raranui Point ; thence by following that circle through Needles to a position east 12 miles from the southern entrance point of Whangamumu Harbour; thence direct to that point.

From 1st November to 30th April (both dates inclusive), commencing where a circle of 20 miles radius from Cape Brett Lighthouse meets the shore at Takou Bay ; thence by following that circle through Step Island to a position east 19 miles from the southern entrance point of Whangamumu Harbour ; thence direct to that point.

Notice under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, prohibiting the Sale in the Borough of Whangarei of certain Goods comprised in the Trade of a Baker.

WHEREAS a petition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the bakers' shops within the Borough of Whangarei, has been forwarded to me, desiring that the sale of certain goods comprised in the trade of a baker—namely, bread, cakes, and pastry—be prohibited during such time as the said shops are required to be closed in pursuance of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22 :

And whereas I, George James Anderson, Minister of Labour, am satisfied that the sale of the said goods is comprised in the trade of a baker within the said borough, and that the signatures to such petition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the said shops within the said borough :

Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 33 of the said Act, I do hereby direct that on and after the 21st day of September, 1925, the sale of the said goods in the Borough of Whangarei shall be and is hereby prohibited as follows—On Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays after the hour of 6 p.m., on Thursdays after the hour of 5 p.m., and on Saturdays after the hour of 9 p.m.

Incorporated Societies Act, 1908.—Declaration by the Assistant Registrar dissolving a Society.

I, WILLIAM JOHNSTON, Assistant Registrar of Incorporated Societies, do hereby declare that, as it has been made to appear to me that The Pahiatua Licensed Traders' Association (Incorporated) is no longer carrying on its operations, the aforesaid society is hereby dissolved in pursuance of section 28 of the Incorporated Societies Act, 1908.

THE following Notices to Mariners, which have been received from the Navy Office, Department of Defence, Melbourne, and the Department of Navigation, Sydney, are published for general information.

AUSTRALIA.—EAST COAST, NEW SOUTH WALES.—MONTAGUE ISLAND.

Existence of a Rock.

Position.—Latitude 36° 17′ 25″ south, longitude 150° 13′ 54″ east.

Remarks.—A rock with a depth of 23 fathoms over it has been discovered at a distance of 2·35 miles 193 degrees from Montague Island Lighthouse.

AUSTRALIA.—EAST COAST.—PORT OF NEWCASTLE.

Uniform Tide, Depth, Dredger, and Navigation Signals.

Shipmasters and others are hereby notified that on and after the 8th July, 1925, tide, depth, dredger, and navigation signals will be exhibited at the Port of Newcastle, in accordance with the uniform system accepted at the Interstate Conference of Port Authorities in Melbourne in October, 1924, and subsequently adopted by all Australian States.

Diagrams and details of the above-mentioned signals are obtainable on application at the offices of the Department of Navigation, Sydney and Newcastle.
