THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of two thousand pounds, authorized to be raised by the Borough of Cromwell under the above-mentioned Act, for the Waterworks Renewal Loan of £2,000, the said Cromwell Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of eightpence in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Cromwell, comprising the whole of the Borough of Cromwell; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the first day of May and the first day of November in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years.

WAIAEMO COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loan Act, 1913, the Waihemo County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of seven hundred pounds (£700), authorized to be raised by the Waihemo County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of erecting a bridge across the Shag River on the Switchback Road, the said Waihemo County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of two-sevenths of a penny upon the rateable value of all rateable property within the Switchback Bridge Rating-area, comprising—

and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908; and in the matter of the SOUTHERN CROSS BISCUIT COMPANY (LIMITED).

AT an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company held at the offices of Messrs. Silk, Haworth, and Co., on Wednesday, the 22nd July, 1925, the following special resolution was duly passed and confirmed at a subsequent extraordinary general meeting held on Wednesday, the 5th August, 1925:—
“That the SOUTHERN CROSS BISCUIT COMPANY (LIMITED) be wound up voluntarily.”
Messrs. EDWIN MARTELL SILK and ARTHUR HAWORTH, both of Wanganui, Accountants, were appointed Liquidators to the said company.

NOTICE is hereby given, in pursuance of section 230 of the Companies Act, 1908, that a general meeting of members of the above-named company will be held at my office, Tarbert Street, Alexandra, on Tuesday, the 1st day of September, 1925, at half past seven o’clock in the evening, for the purpose of having an account laid before them showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted; also of determining by extraordinary resolution the manner in which the books, accounts, and documents of the company, and of the Liquidator thereof, shall be disposed of.

WAITOMO COUNTY COUNCIL.

In the matter of the Counties Act, 1920, and the Public Works Act, 1908.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Waitomo County Council proposes under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts to execute a certain public work—namely, the construction and establishment of a quarry and incidental works; and for the purposes of such public works the parcel of land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken.
And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the said parcel of land so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Clerk to the said Council, situate in Taupiri Street, Te Kuiti, and is open for inspection without any fee by all persons during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said parcel of land who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the public work or to the taking of the said parcel of land must state their objections in writing and send the same within forty days from the first publication of this notice—namely, the 6th day of August, 1925—to the Clerk of the said county at the County Offices, Taupiri Street, Te Kuiti.

SCHEDULE.
Approximate area of land required to be taken: 2 roods 28·8 perches.
Being portion of block of land called Rangitoto-Tuhua No. 26f No. 2c No. 1. Coloured on plan: Red.
