[twenty pounds for the extension of the electric works, and
is now desirous of borrowing an additional sum of seven
hundred and forty-two pounds under the authority of section
eighteen of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose
of completing the undertaking :

And whereas the Minister of Finance has given his precedent
consent as required by the above-recited section eleven, and
it is desired that the rate of interest at which the money may
be borrowed be not exceeding six per centum per annum :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance of the power and
authority vested in him as aforesaid, and acting by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
Dominion, doth hereby prescribe that the rate of interest
that may be paid by the Raetihi Borough Council in respect
of the said loan of seven hundred and forty-two pounds shall
be a rate not exceeding six per centum per annum, and the
said Raetihi Borough Council is hereby authorized to borrow
the said sum of seven hundred and forty-two pounds accord-
ingly.

Prescribing the Rate of Interest that may be paid by the Sumner
Borough Council in respect of a Loan of £1,000, authorized
to be raised for the Purpose of erecting a Worker's Dwelling.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 20th day of
July, 1925.

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.
WHEREAS by section eleven of the Finance Act, 1921,
and its amendments, it is provided that, notwith-
standing anything to the contrary in any Act or in any rule
of law, where a local authority or public body has been autho-
rized before the passing of the said Act, or is thereafter autho-
rized, to borrow money, whether pursuant to a poll of rate-
payers or otherwise howsoever, whether the rate of interest
or the term of years of the loan was or was not specified or
determined, and such money or any part thereof has not
been borrowed, the local authority may, with the precedent
consent of the Minister of Finance, borrow such money, or
such amount thereof as has not been borrowed, at such rate
of interest, or for such term, as may be prescribed by the
Governor-General by Order in Council :

And whereas the Sumner Borough Council has been autho-
rized to borrow the sum of one thousand pounds for the pur-
pose of erecting a worker's dwelling :

And whereas the Minister of Finance has given his pre-
cedent consent as required by the above-recited section
eleven, and it is desired that the rate of interest at which
the money may be borrowed be not exceeding five and a
quarter per centum per annum :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise
of the power and authority vested in him as aforesaid, and
acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby prescribe that the
rate of interest that may be paid by the Sumner Borough
Council in respect of the said loan of one thousand pounds
shall be a rate not exceeding five and a quarter per centum
per annum, and the said Sumner Borough Council is hereby
authorized to borrow the said sum of one thousand pounds
accordingly.

Prescribing the Term for which the Thames Valley Electric-power
Board may borrow the sum of £50,000, being a Portion of a
Loan of £150,000 authorized to be raised for Electric Works.

WHEREAS by section eleven of the Finance Act, 1921,

And whereas the Minister of Finance has given his pre-
cedent consent as required by the above-recited section
eleven, and it is desired that the term for which the money
may be borrowed be amended to twenty years :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of
the power and authority vested in him as aforesaid, and acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, doth hereby prescribe that the term
for which the Thames Valley Electric-power Board may
borrow the said sum of fifty thousand pounds shall be twenty
years, and the said Thames Valley Electric-power Board is
hereby authorized to borrow the said sum of fifty thousand
pounds accordingly.

Consenting to the Raising of Loans by certain Local Authorities.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 20th day of
July, 1925.

Present :

His Excellency the Governor-General in Council.
WHEREAS application has been made under section
twenty, subsection one, of the Finance Act, 1919,
for the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council
to enable the several local authorities mentioned in the
Schedule hereto to borrow the sums set out therein, and
it is expedient that such consent should issue :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
doth hereby consent to the raising of the loans hereinafter
mentioned by the several local authorities set out in the
Schedule hereto, and it is hereby declared that this Order
in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of
the Finance Act, 1919, and shall operate accordingly as a
consent of the Governor-General in Council to the raising
of the said loans.

AUCKLAND Electric-power Board (for electric works)
Inglewood County Council (for completing the erec-
tion of county offices)
Raetihi Borough Council (for completing the exten-
sion of the electric works)
Thames Borough Council (for contribution to the
cost of constructing a bridge over the Waihou
River at Kopu)
Wanganui City Council (for drainage)
Wanganui City Council (for discharging certain
liabilities of the Gonville and Castlecliff Tramway
Board)
Kairanga County Council (for Manawatu Gorge
Road contribution)
Invercargill Borough Council (for water-supply) ..
