ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 6th day of
July, 1925.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by

Validating Proceedings in connection with a Loan of £550
proposed to be raised by the Akaroa Borough Council.
CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 6th day of
July, 1925.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the Akaroa Borough Council, acting under
and in pursuance of the Local Bodies' Loans Act,
1913, proposes to raise a loan of five hundred and fifty pounds
(£550) for the purpose of building a retaining-wall around the
sea-boundary of the Akaroa Pound Reserve and constructing
four public tennis-courts:
And whereas the notices of the poll of ratepayers are
irregular inasmuch as, although they were published in a
newspaper four times as required by section ten of the said
Act, the amount of the loan was shown therein as six hundred
and fifty pounds (£650) and not five hundred and fifty pounds
(£550), which is the correct amount of the loan proposed to be
raised:
And whereas the amount of the loan was correctly shown as
five hundred and fifty pounds (£550) in the notices of the in-
tention to raise the loan:
And whereas it appears that the ratepayers have not been
misled by the said irregularity or defect, and it is expedient
to validate the same:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise
of the powers and authorities conferred on him by section one
hundred and eleven of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, and
acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare
that the proceedings taken shall be valid to all intents and
purposes as though the amount of the loan had been correctly
shown in the notices of the poll published in pursuance of
section ten of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, and that the
validity of the proceedings in connection with the said loan
shall not be called into question by reason only of the irregu-
larity or defect aforesaid.
F. D. THOMSON,
Clerk of the Executive Council.
