RESOLUTION MAKING A SPECIAL RATE AS SECURITY FOR
SPECIAL LOAN OF £1,000 OVER THE ST. LEONARDS SQUARE
EXTENSION AND IMPROVEMENT SPECIAL-RATING AREA.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by
the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, the Sumner Borough
Council hereby resolves as follows :
That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking
fund, and other charges on a special loan of £1,000, autho-
rized to be raised by the Sumner Borough Council, under
the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of purchasing land
for the extension of St. Leonards Square in the Borough of
Sumner and for the improvement thereof as a recreation-
ground, the said Sumner Borough Council hereby makes and
levies a special rate of 0·115 of a penny in the pound on the
unimproved value of all rateable property in the St. Leonards
Square Extension and Improvement Special-rating Area in
the Borough of Sumner more particularly described as
follows :—
All that part of the Borough of Sumner commencing at
the most northerly point of Lot 61, D.P. 4195, thence
proceeding southerly along the western boundary of Scar-
borough Park to the westernmost corner of the said park,
being the south-east corner of Lot 36, D.P. 3709 ; thence
south-easterly along the south boundary of the said park
to its junction with the Scarborough Road ; thence across
the said road to the north-west corner of Lot 119, D.P. 4261 ;
thence following the road boundaries of Lots 119, 117, 116,
118, 120, 121, 122, 123, and 124, D.P. 4261, to the south-
east corner of Lot 124, D.P. 4261; thence north-westerly
along the south-west boundary of Lot 124 to its junction

Nayland Street; thence by a right line across the Lyttelton-
Christchurch Road and along the southern side of Nayland

northerly along the line of this production, across the road

the north-western corner thereof; thence easterly along the
