Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

Wellington, 6th May, 1925.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Board of the Ngaroto Drainage District, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

NGAROTO DRAINAGE BOARD.

Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan of £2,000.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Ngaroto Drainage Board taken on the 8th day of April, 1925, on the proposal of the Ngaroto Drainage Board to borrow the sum of £2,000 for the construction of drainage-works for the Ngaroto Drainage District,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 66; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 35.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

WAITOMO COUNTY COUNCIL.

Result of Poll on Proposal to raise Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Mangaokewa Special-rating Area in the County of Waitomo was taken on the 8th day of April, 1925, on the proposal of the Waitomo County Council to borrow the sum of £2,400 for the purpose of re-forming, widening, culverting, and metalling portion of the Mangaokewa Road.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 12; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 9.
I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.

THE following special order made by the Southland County Council is published in accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act.

SPECIAL ORDER.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Noxious Weeds Act, 1908, and the amendments of the said Act, the Southland County Council hereby resolves by way of special order as follows :—

That Canadian or Californian Thistle (Cnicus arvensis) and ragwort or ragweed (Senecio jacobæa) shall be deemed not to be noxious weeds within the County of Southland.

The foregoing resolution was passed by the Southland County Council as a special order on the 13th day of March, 1925, and confirmed as such on the 17th day of April, 1925.

THE following special order made by the Masterton Borough Council is published in accordance with the provisions of section 2 of the Noxious Weeds Amendment Act, 1910.

SPECIAL ORDER.

PURSUANT to the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1908, and its amendments, the Masterton Borough Council doth hereby declare (by special order) that hemlock (Conium maculatum) and fennel (Fœniculum vulgare), being two of the plants named in the Third Schedule to the said Act, are noxious weeds within the meaning of the said Act within the Borough of Masterton.

The above special order was made by the Masterton Borough Council at a special meeting held on the 16th March, 1925, and was duly confirmed at a subsequent meeting of the Council on the 21st April, 1925.

Notice of Intention to take Additional Land, in the City of Wellington, for the Purposes of an Automatic-telephone Exchange.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of an automatic-telephone exchange in the City of Wellington; and for the purposes of such public work the additional land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the Public Works Office, Wellington, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 2·55 perches.

Being part Lot 3, D.P. 5556, being part Section 28, situated in Block VI, Port Nicholson Survey District (Karori R.D.). (City of Wellington.) (S.O. 1965.)

In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 62405, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon bordered red.

As witness my hand at Wellington this 30th day of April, 1925.
