the power and authority vested in him as aforesaid, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby prescribe that the rate of interest that may be paid by the Rangitikei County Council in respect of the said loan of three thousand pounds shall be a rate not exceeding six per centum per annum, and the said Rangitikei County Council is hereby authorized to borrow the said sum of three thousand pounds accordingly.

Notice of Change of the Purpose of Portion of a Reserve in the Township of Waverley, Wellington Land District.
CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.
WHEREAS by section six of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as "the said Act"), the Governor-General is empowered, in the case of any public reserve vested in His Majesty or the Governor-General for any of the purposes comprised in Class II of the Second Schedule to the said Act, to change the purpose for which such reserve was set apart to any other purpose:
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto is portion of a reserve duly set apart for a site for a telegraph-station and post-office, being a purpose within Class II of the Second Schedule to the said Act, and it is expedient to change, as hereinafter provided, the purpose of such reserve so set apart;
Now, therefore, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, in pursuance of the powers conferred on me by section six of the said Act as aforesaid, declare that the portion of the reserve described in the Schedule hereto is hereby changed from a site for a telegraph-station and post-office to a site for a war memorial. And I do hereby further declare that this notice is issued subject to the provisions of section seven of the said Act, and shall take effect according to the provisions of that section.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 8-4 perches, more or less, being part of Section 144, Township of Waverley, and bounded as follows: Commencing at a point on the Weraroa Road, 117 links distant from the junction of the said road with Chester Street, thence by right lines towards the east, north, and west by other part of Section 144, for distances of 125 links, 42 links, and 125 links respectively; and towards the south by the aforesaid Weraroa Road, for a distance of 42 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages a little more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked 247/44, deposited in the Wellington District Office, Department of Lands and Survey, and thereon edged blue.

Opening Land in the North Auckland Land District for Sale or Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and seventy-six of the said Act, do hereby declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Monday, the eighth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five; and also that the land mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the price at which the said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.
SCHEDULE.
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.-FIRST-CLASS LAND. Franklin County.-Waiuku West Parish. SECTION 199: Area, 64 acres O roods 14 perches. Capital value, £535. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £13 7s. 6d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £10 14s.
Section situated seven miles from Waiuku by good road, five miles and a half metalled, balance formed sandy road. Section is undulating to steep land, covered with fern and blackberry. About 3 acres shelter bush; soil is a light sandy loam; permanently watered by small stream. Elevation about 150 ft. to 300 ft. above sea-level. Section is boundary-fenced.

FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Hobson County.--Te Kuri Survey District.
SECTION 31, Block II: Area, 198 acres 2 roods. Capital value, £1,200. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £30. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £24.
Section situated on main Tikinui-Tangaihi Road, access being from Tikinui, which is two miles away, by formed but unmetalled cart-road. The elevation ranges from 20 ft. to 200 ft. The section comprises about 75 acres good rich raupo and flax swamp, about 5 acres undulating land in fern, balance hilly to broken, in fern and tea-tree. The soil is rich decayed matter on the swamp, the balance being clayey loam on poor sandstone. Watered by spring and swamp. There is sufficient good swamp and dry country in this section to make a good dairy farm.
FIRST- AND SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Hobson County.--Tokatoka Survey District.
SECTION 65, Block XV: Area, 2 acres 2 roods 16 perches. Capital value, £40. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, £1. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, 16s.
Section 67, Block XV: Area, 26 acres 3 roods 20 perches. Capital value, £14. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent, 7s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, 5s. 7d.
Section 65: Situated on main Tikinui-Tangaihi Road, access being from Tikinui, one mile and a quarter away, by formed unmetalled cart-road. Comprises all rich raupo and flax swamp, on a sandstone formation. Watered by swamp and drain.
Section 67: Situated on main Tikinui-Tangaihi Road, one mile and a half from Tikinui. Elevation ranges from 20 ft. to 150 ft. above sea-level. All fairly easy country in tea-tree scrub and fern, the soil being clay loam on poor sandstone. Watered by spring and swamp.
