northern boundary of that block to the eastern boundary of
Section 4, Block XIV, Moeraki Survey District; thence
northerly along the said eastern boundary to the road forming
the northern boundary of the said Section 4; thence north-
westerly along that road to the eastern boundary of Section
27, Block III, Waihemo Survey District; thence north-
easterly along that boundary to the Waianakarua River, up
that river to its source; thence to the summit of the Kakanui
Mountains; thence generally northerly along the summits of
the Kakanui and the Hawkdun Mountains to a point due
east of Mount St. Bathans; thence by a right line to Mount
St. Bathans; thence northerly along the summit of the range
passing through Double Peak, Lindis Pass, Pavilion Peak,
Mount Martha, Mount Gladwish, and Mount Huxley to
Broderick Pass; thence along the summit of the Southern
Alps to Mount Cook, the place of commencement.

Open Season for Imported Game and Native Game, License
Fee, &c.. Wanganui Acclimatization District.
IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals
Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, I, Richard Francis
Bollard, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New
Zealand, do hereby declare the period from the 1st day of
May to the 31st day of July, 1925 (both days inclusive),
to be an open season in the Wanganui Acclimatization Dis-
trict, as described in the Schedule hereto, except in the areas
referred to in condition No. 3, for the taking or killing of the
following imported game and native game—viz., cock
pheasants, Californian quail, Australian quail, grey duck,
spoonbill duck (or shoveller), black teal, and black swan—
subject to the following conditions.
CONDITIONS.
-
LICENSES to take or kill such imported game and native
game within the said district will be issued to any person on
payment of the sum of twenty shillings (20s.) each, and the
Chief Postmaster at Wanganui and the Postmasters at Fordell
and Mangamahu are hereby authorized to sign and issue the
said licenses. -
The number of such imported game and native game
that may be taken or killed by any one person in any one
day shall not exceed six cock pheasants and twenty head
in all of Californian quail, Australian quail, grey duck, spoon-
bill duck (or shoveller), black teal, and black swan. -
Nothing in any license to take or kill imported game
and native game shall authorize the holder thereof to take or
kill imported game and native game on lands actually and
exclusively used by any registered acclimatization society for
acclimatization purposes, or on any sanctuary or public
domain. -
No person shall kill or destroy any such imported game
or native game, or shoot at or attempt to shoot at any such
imported game or native game, with any automatic or auto-
loading gun, unless it is converted into a gun capable of
carrying two cartridges only, or with any rifle or pea-rifle,
swivel-gun, punt-gun, or pump-gun, or shall use any gun other
than a shoulder-gun; and no gun shall be used for the purpose
aforesaid the bore of which is larger than the size known
as No. 12 at the muzzle, nor shall any gun be used which
exceeds 10 lb. in weight. -
Shooting may begin not earlier than half an hour before
sunrise and must cease not later than half an hour after
sunset. -
Any person committing a breach of any of these condi-
tions is liable, on conviction, to a fine of £20.
SCHEDULE.
All that area in the Wellington and Taranaki Land Districts
bounded on the west by the Hawera and Stratford Accli-
matization Districts, hereinbefore described, and on the north
generally by the Waimarino Acclimatization District, herein-
before described; from the mouth of the Waitotara River to
Auahitotara Trig. Station; thence southerly along a right
line to Trig. Station 16 and a right line to Trig. Station 32;
thence westerly along a right line to the junction of the
Panemango and the Tomakomako Streams; thence up the
middle of the Panemango Stream to and along the southern
boundaries generally of Ruaui No. 2B 3, 2B 4, 2B 5, 2B 6, 2B 7
Blocks and the south-western boundary of Section 1, Block X,
Mangakaretu Survey District, to the middle of the Turakina
River; thence along a right line to the Maungakaretu Trig.
Station on the summit of the eastern watershed of the Wa-
gaehu River; thence in a south-westerly direction generally
along the summit of that watershed to and along a right
line which runs in a north-westerly direction through Trig.
Station on Okaipe (Block XIV, Mangawhero Survey District)
to a point in the middle of the Wangaehu River due west
about eighteen chains from the western boundary of Block
XIV, Mangawhero Survey District; thence down the middle
of the said river to the sea; thence in a north-westerly
direction along the sea-coast to the point of commencement.

March, 1926 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in
the said district for the taking or killing of the following
native game—viz., godwits; subject to the following con-
ditions.
CONDITIONS.

LICENSES to take or kill such imported game and native
game (including godwits) within the said district will be
issued to any person on payment of the sum of twenty
shillings (20s.) each, and licenses to take or kill the following
native game only—viz., godwits—will be issued to any person
on payment of the sum of ten shillings (10s.) each; and the
secretary of the Wellington Acclimatization Society, or any
person authorized by such secretary in that behalf, is hereby
authorized to sign and issue the said licenses. -
The number of such native game that may be taken
or killed by any one person in any one day shall not exceed
twenty head in all of black swan, grey duck and spoonbill
duck (or shoveller); provided that not more than five head of
black swan may be taken or killed. -
Nothing in any license to take or kill imported game
and native game (including godwits), or native game only
(including godwits), shall authorize the holder thereof to take
or kill imported and native game (including godwits), or
native game only (including godwits), on lands actually and
exclusively used by any registered acclimatization society for
acclimatization purposes, or on any sanctuary or public domain. -
No person shall kill or destroy any such imported game
or native game, or shoot at or attempt to shoot at any such
imported game or native game, with any automatic or auto-

hereinbefore described; on the south, south-east, and north-
east by the Feilding Acclimatization District, hereinbefore
described; and again on the north-east by the Hawke’s Bay
Acclimatization District, hereinbefore described; from the
mouth of the Wangaehu River to the mouth of the Waimata
