Crown Land set apart as a Provisional State Forest.

A PROCLAMATION.

BY virtue and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section eighteen of the Forests Act, 1921–22, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, do hereby set apart the Crown land described in the Schedule hereto as a provisional State forest.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—AUCKLAND FOREST-CONSERVATION REGION.

Provisional State Forest No. 128.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 88 acres 3 roods, more or less, being Section 3, Block V, Thames Survey District, and bounded as follows: Towards the north-east by a water-race and road reserve, 117 and 1765·1 links; towards the south-east by the southern portion of the Maungakirikiri Block, 5425·7 links; towards the west generally by Maungakirikiri No. 4 Block, 206·9, 480, and 1,332 links; towards the north-west by Section 4, Block V, Thames Survey District, 4,318·6 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 22/2, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 23rd day of March, 1925.

Declaring a Public Highway in the No. 7 Highway District to be a Main Highway.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 23rd day of March, 1925.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE SIR FRANCIS BELL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by section three of the Main Highways Act, 1922, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that on and after the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five, the public highway mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall be a main highway within the meaning and for the purposes of the Main Highways Act, 1922.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND—WELLINGTON Road via Taranaki: All that portion of the road commencing at the northern boundary of the County of Stratford, and proceeding thence generally in a southerly direction via Midhurst, and terminating at the southern boundary of the County of Stratford, being a distance of 9 miles 20 chains, more or less, passing through the County of Stratford, but excluding that portion in the Borough of Stratford:

As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.H. 28, deposited in the office of the Main Highways Board at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured blue.

Declaring Portions of Roads in Highway District No. 7, Eltham and Hawera Counties, to be Government Roads.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 23rd day of March, 1925.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE SIR FRANCIS BELL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the portions of roads described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five, become Government roads.

SCHEDULE.

LEPPERTON Junction – Hawera via Opunake: All that portion of road commencing at the western boundary of the County of Hawera near Riversdale, and proceeding thence generally in a south-easterly direction via Inaha, and terminating at the western boundary of the Borough of Hawera, passing through the County of Hawera, being a distance of six miles, more or less; marked A–B on plan.

Eltham Opunake: All that portion of road commencing at the western boundary of the Borough of Eltham, and proceeding thence generally in a westerly direction via Mangatoki, Kaponga, and Riverlea, and terminating at the western boundary of the County of Eltham, passing through the County of Eltham, being a distance of 13 miles 10 chains, more or less; marked C–D on plan.

Normanby to Manaia – Mount Egmont Road via Okaiawa: All that portion of the Normanby to Manaia – Mount Egmont Road via Okaiawa, commencing at the post-office, Okaiawa, and proceeding thence generally in a westerly direction, and terminating at the western boundary of the County of Hawera, passing through the County of Hawera, being a distance of 2 miles 20 chains, more or less; marked E–F on plan.

As the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked M.H. 28, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured blue and marked as above mentioned.
