later than 4.30 o'clock in the afternoon of that day.

Opening Otago University Endowment Reserve in Southland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, and the
Otago University Reserves Act, 1904, I, Sir Charles Fergusson,
Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the Otago University Endowment Reserve described in the Schedule hereto shall be open
for selection on renewable lease for the term of sixty-six years,
with right of renewal for successive periods of sixty-six
years, on Thursday, the twenty-sixth day of February, one
thousand nine hundred and twenty-five, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the
said endowment reserve shall be leased under and subject
to the provisions of the said Acts.
SCHEDULE.
SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SOUTHLAND COUNTY.—OTAGO UNIVERSITY ENDOWMENT.
Forest Hill and Lindhurst Hundreds.
Lot 3 of part Section 132, Block IV, and part Section 5,
Blocks I and VI : Area, 795 acres 1 rood. Capital value, £1,195.
Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £23 18s ; £19 10s.*
- Instalment on buildings valued at £500, consisting of
house, shearing-shed, and cow-byrre, repayable in twenty-one
years by half - yearly instalments of £19 10s. Total half-yearly payment on lease, £43 8s.
The total improvements are valued at £533. The valuation
for buildings, £500, may be paid in cash or in twenty-one years
as above. If the successful lessee elects to repay the £500 in
instalments, then it will be necessary to pay the £33 in cash at
time of selection.
Situated five miles and a half from Hedghope Railway-station by a fair road, partly metalled. About 240 acres are

swamp land of fair quality, which could all be improved by
cultivation; 750 acres low-lying, carrying fair grazing in its
natural state; balance is light hilly land not fit for cultivation, with a good deal of manuka-scrub.

Amending the Warrant authorizing the Minister of Public Works to construct a Bridge over the Patea River on Broadway Street, in the Borough of Stratford, and apportioning the Cost.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me by section nine of the Public Works Amendment Act, 1913, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby amend the Warrant dated the fourth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two, and published in Gazette No. 67, of the seventh day of the same month, authorizing the Minister of Public Works to construct a bridge over the Patea River on Broadway Street, in the Borough of Stratford, and apportioning the cost in terms of section one hundred and nineteen of the Public Works Act, 1908, as follows, viz. : The amount which the Stratford Borough Council is authorized to borrow by special order without taking any poll of the ratepayers thereon for the purpose of the execution of the work described in the said Warrant shall be eleven thousand eight hundred and forty-four pounds twelve shillings and eightpence (£11,844 12s. 8d.).
