At the Government House at Wellington, this 9th day of
February, 1925.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the tenth day of
May, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, and
published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 66, of the twentieth
day of the same month, the management of the wharf at Port
Albert, and of the wharves at Mahurangi Heads, Matakana
Sandspit, Upper Matakana, Puhoi, and Warkworth, was
vested in the Rodney County Council (hereinafter called “the
Council” in which term is to be construed, unless the con-
text requires a different construction, its successors or
assigns), until the thirty-first day of July, one thousand
nine hundred and twenty-seven, and dues and rates, and regula-
tions, were prescribed and made for the use of the said wharves :
And whereas it is desirable to revoke the scale of dues
prescribed in the Second Schedule of the hereinbefore-recited
Order in Council in respect of the Port Albert Wharf :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of
the power and authority conferred upon him by the Harbours
Act, 1923, and of all other powers and authorities enabling
him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth
hereby revoke the scale of dues prescribed in the Second
Schedule of the hereinbefore recited Order in Council in so
far as the said Order in Council affects the Port Albert Wharf,
but not further or otherwise, and doth hereby prescribe
that the dues set forth in the Schedule hereto, on and after
the date of publication of this Order in Council in the New
Zealand Gazette, shall be taken by the Council for the use of
the said wharf.
SCHEDULE.
WHARFAGE ON VESSELS.
Regular-trading steamers and sailing-vessels, for £ s. d.

All vessels which do not pay their dues in advance will be
deemed to be irregular-trading vessels.
Vessels coming alongside the wharf will be held respon-
sible for any damage done to the wharf, and the said
Council will repair any such damage, and charge the cost of
doing so against the master or owner of the vessel doing the
damage.
The half-year will commence on the 1st days of January
and July in each year.
The masters or owners of all regular-trading vessels shall
pay their dues in advance to the Treasurer of the said
Council.
All dues payable by irregular-trading vessels shall be paid
to the Treasurer of the said Council, or to some one ap-
pointed by him to receive them, the payments to be made
by the master or owner of the vessel upon the first appli-
cation.

All goods not removed from the wharf or sheds within
seven days will be charged double rates—viz., two shillings
per ton.
All landing-dues shall be paid quarterly, on return to be
furnished to the Clerk of the said Council, or other person
appointed by the said Council, by the receiver of the goods,
or on returns from the books of the master or owner of the
vessel which carried them.

Prescribing the Rate of Interest that may be paid by the Leeston
Town Board in respect of a Loan of £4,000, authorized to be
raised for the Erection of Town Board Offices and Fire
Station, Purchase of Fire Engine and Appliances, &c.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section eleven of the Finance Act, 1921,
and its amendments, it is provided that, notwith-
standing anything to the contrary in any Act or in any
rule of law, where a local authority or public body has been
authorized before the passing of the said Act, or is thereafter
authorized, to borrow money, whether pursuant to a poll
of ratepayers or otherwise howsoever, whether the rate of
interest or the term of years of the loan was or was not
specified or determined, and such money or any part thereof
has not been borrowed, the local authority may, with the
precedent consent of the Minister of Finance, borrow such
money, or such amount thereof as has not been borrowed, at
such rate of interest, or for such term, as may be prescribed
by the Governor-General by Order in Council :
And whereas the Leeston Town Board has been authorized
to borrow the sum of four thousand pounds for the erection
of Town Board offices and fire station, purchase of fire
engine and appliances, &c. :
And whereas the Minister of Finance has given his precedent
consent as required by the above-recited section eleven, and
it is desired that the rate of interest at which the money
may be borrowed be not exceeding five and three-quarters
per centum per annum :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of
the power and authority vested in him as aforesaid, and
acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby prescribe that the
rate of interest that may be paid by the Leeston Town Board
in respect of the said loan of four thousand pounds shall be
a rate not exceeding five and three-quarters per centum per
annum, and the said Leeston Town Board is hereby autho-
rized to borrow the said sum of four thousand pounds
accordingly.
