Making Provision with respect to Representation on the Wanganui Harbour Board.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 9th day of February, 1925.
Present:
His Excellency THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS it is provided by section thirty-one of the Harbours Act, 1923 (hereinafter called "the said Act"), that the creation, abolition, merger, union, division, or other alteration of any constituent district or combined district shall not in itself have any operation so as to affect the then existing membership of a Harbour Board, and that the Governor-General may from time to time, by Order in Council, whenever in his opinion it becomes necessary or expedient so to do, make such provision with respect to the representation of any part of any rating-area or constituent or combined district as he thinks fit:
And whereas it is provided in the First Schedule of the said Act that, inter alia, six members of the Wanganui Harbour Board shall be elected by the electors of the Borough of Wanganui and the town districts of Gonville and Castlecliff:
And whereas the town districts of Gonville and Castlecliff have, as from the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four, been merged in the Borough of Wanganui, which borough becomes a constituent district for the purposes of the said Act, and it is desirable to make the necessary provision with respect to the representation of the said con stituent district :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the hereinbefore-recited power and authority, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order that six members of the Wanganui Harbour Board shall be elected by the electors of the constituent district of the Borough of Wanganui in place of six members at present elected by the electors of the combined district of the Borough of Wanganui and the town districts of Gonville and Castlecliff.

Extension of the Copyright Act, 1913, to certain British Protectorates.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 2nd day of February, 1925.
Present:
His Excellency THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS it is provided by section two of the Copyright Amendment Act, 1924, that the Governor General may, by Order in Council, direct that the Copyright Act, 1913 (hereinafter referred to as "the said Act"), shall apply
(a.) To works first published in any territory under His Majesty's protection, or subject to a mandate conferred on His Majesty by the League of Nations,
as if such works were first published in New Zealand ; and
(b.) In respect of residence in any such territory in like manner as if such residence were residence in New Zealand :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred as aforesaid, doth hereby direct that the said Act shall apply to works first published in the following territories under His Majesty's protection or subject to a mandate conferred on His Majesty by the League of Nations, viz.: Bechuanaland Protectorate, Gambia Protectorate, Gold Coast (Northern Territories), Kenya Protectorate, Nigeri a Protectorate, Northern Rhodesia, Nyasaland Protectorate, Sierra Leone Protectorate, Somaliland Protectorate, Swaziland, Uganda Protectorate, Solomon Islands Protectorate, Palestine, and Tanganyika Territory.
as if such works were first published in New Zealand; and doth hereby further direct that the said Act shall extend in respect of residence in any of such territories in like manner as if such residence were residence in New Zealand, subject to the following modification:-In the application to existing works of the provisions of subsections seven and eight of section twenty-five and section thirty-two of the said Act, the commencement of this Order shall be substituted for the commencement of the said Act wherever that expression occurs, and for the first day of July, nineteen hundred and thirteen, in paragraph (b) of subsection one of section thirty-two. This Order shall come into operation on the twentieth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and twenty five, which date is in this Order referred to as the commencement of this Order.

Extension of Copyright Act, 1913, to Syria and Lebanon.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 26th day of January, 1925.
Present:
His Excellency THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by an Order in Council dated the twenty-seventh day of March, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen, and gazetted on the first day of April, then instant (hereinafter referred to as "the said Order"), the Copyright Act, 1913, was extended to the foreign countries therein mentioned, subject to the provisions set out in the said Order.
And whereas it is desired to extend the said Order to Syria and Lebanon:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by the Copyright Act, 1913, doth hereby extend the said Order to Syria and Lebanon as if they were amongst the foreign countries of the Copyright Union named in paragraph one of the said Order, subject to the following modifications:-
(1.) The provisions of paragraph (2), proviso (iii) (a), of the said Order shall apply as if Syria and Lebanon were included amongst the foreign countries named in those provisions.
(2.) In the application of the provisions of paragraph (3) of the said Order to works of which the country of origin is Syria or Lebanon, the commencement of this Order shall be substituted for the commencement of the said Act and for the commencement of the said Order.
(3.) In the application to such works of section 3, subsection (2), paragraph (d) and section 25 of the Copyright Act, 1913, the commencement of this Order shall be sub stituted for the commencement of the said Act in section 25, subsections (7) and (8), wherever that expression occurs.
(4.) In the application to such works of the provisions of section 32 of the Copyright Act, 1913, the commencement of this Order shall be substituted for the commencement of the said Act wherever that expression occurs in subsection (1), paragraph (a), and for the 1st July, 1913, in subsection (1), paragraph (b).
This Order shall come into operation on the twentieth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five, which date is in this Order referred to as the commencement of this Order.
