NOTICE is hereby given that the lease of the under-mentioned land having been declared forfeited by resolution of the Otago Land Board, the said land has thereby reverted to the Crown under the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.

Land in North Auckland Land District for Sale or Selection.

North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office,

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned section is opened for selection in terms of the Land Act, 1924, and the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, and amendments, and applications will be received at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Thursday, the 12th March, 1925.

The land may be selected on optional tenures or purchased for cash at the option of the applicant.

Title will be subject to Part XIII of the Land Act, 1924.

Full particulars can be obtained from the Commissioner of Crown Lands, North Auckland.

SCHEDULE.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.

SECTION 208, Waipareira Parish: Area, 16 acres 1 rood 8 perches. Capital value, £500. Half-yearly rent under occupation with right of purchase, £12 10s.

Situated two miles from Swanson Railway-station by metalled road. Land is all undulating to steep, all been cleared and ploughed. The soil is fair quality clay on sandstone formation, well watered by a swampy stream. Fencing comprises 40 chains boundary and 10 chains of subdivision. Buildings consist of kauri house of three rooms, with iron roof, and outbuilding of two rooms, rimu, with iron roof.

STATE FOREST SERVICE NOTICE.

Millng-timber for Sale by Public Tender.—Westland Forest-conservation Region.

State Forest Service,
Hokitika, 29th January, 1924.

NOTICE is hereby given that written tenders for the purchase of the undermentioned lots of milling-timber will close at the office of the State Forest Service, Hokitika, at 4 o’clock p.m. on Friday, the 27th February, 1925.

SCHEDULE.

WESTLAND FOREST-CONSERVATION REGION.—WESTLAND LAND DISTRICT.

ALL the milling-timber on that piece of land, containing 210 acres, situated in Blocks II and VI, Otira Survey District, portion of Provisional State Forest Reserve No. 1094, situated about three miles and a quarter from Jackson’s Railway-station.

The total estimated quantity in superficial feet is 2,460,500, being 2,041,000 kahikatea, 256,900 matai, and 162,600 rimu.

Upset price: £2,880.

Ground rent: £10 10s. per annum.

Time for removal of timber: Three years.

Further blocks of residual tributary timber in the provisional State forest mentioned will be selected at appropriate times and offered for sale by public tender as occasion warrants.

Terms of Payment.

A marked cheque for one-tenth of the purchase-money, together with half-year’s ground rent and £10 license fee must accompany the tender, and the balance be paid by nine equal quarterly instalments, the first of which shall be paid six months after the date of sale.

In addition, the ground rent shall be paid half-yearly in advance during the currency of the license.

Terms and Conditions.

  1. All instalment-payments shall be secured by “on demand” promissory notes made and endorsed to the satisfaction of the Commissioner of State Forests, and interest at current bank rates will be charged on all notes overdue from the date of maturity to the date of payment.

  2. The right to cut and remove the timber will be sold in accordance with the provisions of the Forests Act, 1921–22, the regulations in force thereunder, and these conditions.

  3. The attention of all tenderers is drawn to the fact that the local controlling body may require the successful tenderer to pay any claims or charges which may be made by that body for the maintenance of the road over which the timber may be transported, and before a sawmill license is issued
