A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the Public Works Amendment Act, 1909, it is enacted that if at any time after the issue or making of any Proclamation taking land under the Public Works Act, 1908, and before the payment or award of any compensation in respect of the taking thereof, it is found that the land, or any part thereof, is not required for the purpose for which it is taken the Governor-General may, by a subsequent Proclamation gazetted, revoke the former Proclamation, either wholly or so far as he thinks necessary: And whereas it is found that part of the land taken for the purposes of the Auckland-Westfield deviation of the Kaipara-Waikato Railway by a Proclamation made under the Public Works Act, 1908, dated the ninth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three (hereinafter termed “the said Proclamation”), and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 52, of the fourteenth day of the same month, page 1633, is not required for the purpose for which it was taken: Now, therefore, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me by the Public Works Amendment Act, 1909, and of all other powers enabling me in this behalf, do hereby revoke so much of the said Proclamation as affects the land described in the Schedule hereto.
