Forms of tender may be procured at any post-office.
The attention of tenderers is directed to the terms and conditions of contract printed at the back of the tender forms.
Tenderers may tender for a service to commence from either terminal.
The successful tenderer will be required to show that he is in a position to satisfactorily carry out the service.
No tender will be considered unless made on the printed form.
The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.
Contractors are not required to convey parcel-post parcels (except express transit parcels) to offices served by rail or sea, except where the frequency of the rail or sea service is less than weekly,
Wherever possible, Government officers travelling on official business are required to travel by mail-contractors’ vehicles, provided the fare charged by the contractor does not exceed that charged by the proprietor of an opposition vehicle.
Contractors, when receiving or delivering mails at railway-stations, are to deal with the guards of trains, and, required, mails are to be placed in the railway-vans.
Tenders are to be enclosed in sealed envelopes, endorsed “Tenders for Mail-service,” and are to be addressed to the Chief Postmaster of the postal district to which the tender may specially refer.
