Buildings, situated in Featherston Street, in the City of
Wellington.

I, WILLIAM WALTER BEVAN (heretofore called and
known by the name of "William Amos Bevan"), of
Napier, in the Provincial District of Hawke's Bay and Dominion
of New Zealand, Barman, hereby give notice that on the
fourteenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-
four, I formally and absolutely renounced, relinquished, and
abandoned the use of my said Christian name of "Amos,"
and assumed and adopted, and determined thenceforth on
all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the Christian
names of "William Walter" and the said surname of
"Bevan"; and I give further notice that by a deed poll
dated the fourteenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred
and twenty-four, duly executed and attested and enrolled
in the Supreme Court Office, at Napier, I formally and
absolutely renounced and abandoned the said Christian name
of "Amos," and declared that I had assumed and adopted,
and intended thenceforth on all occasions whatsoever to use
and subscribe the names of "William Walter Bevan" instead
of "William Amos Bevan," and so as to be at all times thereafter
called and known and described by the names of
"William Walter Bevan."

ROTORUA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION INCREASING A SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, and of
all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Rotorua
Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of
interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Rotorua
Borough Improvement Loan of £30,000, 1924, authorized to
be raised by the Rotorua Borough Council under the above-
mentioned Act for the purpose of
(a.) The sum of £16,900 for improvements to Tutanei,
Fenton, Amohau, Ranolf, Pererika, Eruera, Hinemoa, Pukuatua, Amohia, and Sophia Streets and
Malfroy Road;
(b.) The sum of £3,800 for the purchase of necessary plant;
(c.) The sum of £2,000 for footpath-improvements;
(d.) The sum of £2,000 for storm-water drainage;
(e.) The sum of £5,300 for general street-improvements,
including improvements to roads, footpaths, and
storm-water drainage,
the said Council, pursuant to section 22 of the Local Bodies'
Loans Act, 1913, hereby increases to three-fifths (3/5ths) of a
penny in the pound sterling the special rate of one halfpenny
(½d.) in the pound sterling made and levied by resolution
passed by the said Council on the 24th day of June, 1924,
on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of
all rateable property in the Borough of Rotorua, such rate of
one halfpenny (½d.) in the pound sterling being insufficient to
provide for payment of interest, sinking fund, and other
charges on such loan ; and that such special rate as increased
shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of
such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in
each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a
period of thirty-three (33) years, or until the loan is fully
paid off.

mentioned Act, for the purpose set out in the Schedule
attached hereto, the said Rotorua Borough Council hereby
makes and levies a special rate of one halfpenny (½d.) in the
pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the
capital value) of all rateable property in the Borough of
Rotorua; and that such special rate shall be an annually
recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be pay-
able yearly on the first day of April in each and every year
during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-
three (33) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

THAMES COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, and
of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Thames
County Council hereby resolves as follows:
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of
interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of three
thousand pounds (£3,000), authorized to be raised by the
Thames County Council for the purpose of reinstating and
constructing bridges, road-re-formation, metalling, and binding,
constructing protective works against slips and sea erosion,
on, to, and in connection with the Thames to Waikawau Coast
Road, and the purchase of tools, machinery, and plant for
the carrying-out of such works, the said Thames County
Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny
(1d.) in the pound (£1) upon the rateable value of all rateable
property (on the basis of the unimproved value) within the
Thames to Waikawau Coast Road Special-rating Area, com-
prising all that area bounded as follows--Commencing at the
mouth of the Waikawau Stream, thence by the boundary
of the Coromandel County to the eastern boundar of
Block VII, Whitianga Survey District; thence by the eastern
boundary of Blocks VII and XI of the said survey district
to the Hikuai Stream; thence by the said Hikuai Stream
and the dividing range to its intersection with the south
boundary of Block XI, Whitianga Survey District; thence
by the southern boundaries of Block XI, Whitianga Survey
District, and Blocks XVI and XV, Hastings Survey District,
the eastern boundary of Block I, Thames Survey District,
the south boundary of Block I, Thames Survey District, to
the Tararu Stream; thence by the Tararu Stream to the
boundary of the Borough of Thames; thence by the north
boundary of the Borough of Thames to the Firth of Thames;
and by the Firth of Thames to the point of commencement.
And that such special shall be an annually recurring rate
during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on
the first day of June in each and every year during the
currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-
half (36½) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
