Borough of Hastings, is published in accordance with
the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913.

HASTINGS BOROUGH COUNCIL.
NOTICE is hereby given that a poll of the ratepayers of the
Borough of Hastings, including all other persons entitled
to vote on proposals to raise loans, was duly taken on Wednesday, the 2nd day of July, 1924, upon the following proposal:
A proposal to borrow by way of special loan within the
meaning of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and under the
authority of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and the
amendments thereof respectively, the sum of £1,800, to be
expended for the following purposes: Supper-room—For the
erecti on of a supper-room and for the purchase of furnishings
(to be used in conjunction with the assembly hall) over the
right-of-way and back premises between the Municipal
Theatre and the assembly hall, £1,650; cost of raising the
loan and interest and sinking fund for the first year, £150:
total, £1,800.
At such poll the number of votes recorded was: For the
proposal, 537; against the proposal, 516; informal votes, 41.
I do therefore hereby declare the said proposal carried.

Board of the Henderson Town District, is published in
accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans
Act, 1913.

HENDERSON TOWN BOARD.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913,
I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the
Henderson Town District, taken on the 14th day of June,
1924, on the proposal of the Henderson Town Board—
(1.) To borrow the sum of £13,600 for the improvement
of the Main Road (Great North Road and Lincoln
Road) by the construction of a concrete surface, and
the construction with metal or scoria portions of
other streets,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 150;
the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 43.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
(2.) To borrow the sum of £400 for the construction of
footpaths with bituminous surface in George Street,
Henderson,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 123;
the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 70.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
(3.) To borrow the sum of £850 for the purchase and
improvement of the land known as “The Falls
Property” for the purposes of a recreation reserve,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 116;
the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 76.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
(4.) To borrow the sum of £650 for the purchase of land
for the purposes of an office-site and the erection of
building for public offices and meeting-room,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 108;
the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 84.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
(5.) To borrow the sum of £10,700 for the provision of a
water supply and reticulation through the town
district area,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 96;
the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 97.
I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.

the Borough of Whangarei, is published in accordance

Result of Loan Proposal.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans
Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the
ratepayers of the Borough of Whangarei, taken on the 18th
day of June, 1924, on the proposal of the Whangarei Borough
Council to borrow the sum of £3,800, for altering and extending the sewer system of the borough, the number of
votes recorded for the proposal was 91; against the proposal, 41.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

OTAGO ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.
Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act,
1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of
the inner area of the Otago Electric-power District, comprising parts of the Counties of Waihemo, Waikouaiti, Bruce,
and Clutha, and the Boroughs of Palmerston, Waikouaiti,
Kaitangata, and Balclutha, was taken on the 22nd day of
May, 1924, on the proposal of the Otago Electric-power
Board to borrow the sum of £200,000 for the following purposes: To reticulation of district, £100,000; to purchase of
reticulation in Milton Borough and the Milton Line, £25,000;
to proposed extensions to outlying districts, £25,000; assistance to Consumers’ Fund, £25,000; erection of stand-by plant or
for other contingencies, £25,000: total, £200,000.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 961;
the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 162.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
