Applying Section 144 of the Patents, Designs, and Trade-marks Act, 1921–22, to Canada.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 26th day of May, 1924.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by subsection five of section one hundred and forty-four of the Patents, Designs, and Trade-marks Act, 1921–22, it is provided that where it is made to appear to the Governor-General that satisfactory provision has been made as between New Zealand and any foreign State or British possession for the mutual protection of inventions, designs, or trade-marks, the Governor-General may by Order in Council declare that that section shall apply to that foreign State or British possession as from a date to be specified in the Order in Council, subject, however, to such restrictions or limitations (if any) as the Governor-General thinks fit.

And whereas it has been made to appear to the Governor-General that satisfactory provision has been made as between New Zealand and Canada for the mutual protection of inventions, designs, and trade-marks:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him as aforesaid, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that section one hundred and forty-four of the Patents, Designs, and Trade-marks Act, 1921–22, shall apply to Canada as from the first day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four.

Allocating Cost of certain Proceedings under Section 132 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, Borough of Waimate.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 2nd day of June, 1924.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE SIR FRANCIS BELL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance of the powers vested in him by section one hundred and thirty-two of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and of every power and authority enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby direct that the Waimate Borough Council shall defray all the costs of the Commission appointed under the said Act by Warrant under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General dated the twenty-second day of February, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four, to inquire and report upon the proposal to exclude a certain area from the Borough of Waimate, and to include such area in the County of Waimate.

Authorizing the Laying-off of a Street in the Borough of Devonport of a Width less than 66 ft., but not less than 60 ft.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 2nd day of June, 1924.

THE HONOURABLE SIR FRANCIS BELL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorise the Devonport Borough Council to permit the laying-off of a street of a width less than sixty-six feet, but not less than sixty feet, within the area described in the Schedule hereto, it being inexpedient to construct a street of sixty-six feet in width within the said area.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area of land situated in the North Auckland Land District, Borough of Devonport, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 0 roods 25·5 perches, more or less, being portion of Allotment 1, Section 2, Parish of Takapuna. As the said area is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 59646 deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured burnt sienna edged red.

Authorizing the Laying-off of a Street in the City of Auckland of a Width less than 66 ft., but not less than 50 ft.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 2nd day of June, 1924.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE SIR FRANCIS BELL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the Auckland City Council to permit the laying-off of a street of a width less than sixty-six feet, but not less than fifty feet, within the area described in the Schedule hereto, it being inexpedient to construct a street of sixty-six feet in width within the said area.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area of land situated in the North Auckland Land District, City of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 5 acres 0 roods 34 perches, more or less, being Allotment 36 and part Allotments 35, 37, and 38 of Section 16, Suburbs of Auckland. As the said area is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 59650, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon edged blue.

Authorizing the Exchange of a Reserve in Kaihu Survey District North Auckland Land District, for other Land.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 2nd day of June, 1924.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE SIR FRANCIS BELL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land described in the First Schedule hereto is a reserve duly set apart for a drill-shed site:
And whereas it is expedient that the said land should be exchanged for the land described in the Second Schedule hereto, which the Governor-General deems of equal value and more suitable for the purposes of the reserve:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section twelve of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, doth hereby declare that the land described in the First Schedule hereto may be exchanged for the land described in the Second Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

DESCRIPTION OF RESERVE AUTHORIZED TO BE EXCHANGED.

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, containing 2 roods, more or less, being all the land on deposited plan No. 10730, part of the block situated in the Kaihu Survey District called Tunatahi, and being all the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 249, folio 145, Auckland Registry.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

DESCRIPTION OF LAND TO BE OBTAINED IN EXCHANGE THEREFOR.

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 roods, more or less, being Lot 1
