Public Trust Office.—Appointment of New Agent at Raetihi.

It is notified for public information that, owing to pressure of official duties, Constable A. McCowan has relinquished the position of Agent of the Public Trust Office at Raetihi, and that Mr. Herbert Rieper has been appointed in his place.

Incorporated Societies Act, 1908.—Declaration by the Assistant Registrar dissolving a Society.

I, WILLIAM GREER FLETCHER, Assistant Registrar of Incorporated Societies, do hereby declare that, as it has been made to appear to me that the Auckland Motor Carriers Association (Incorporated) is no longer carrying on its operations, the aforesaid society is hereby dissolved in pursuance of section 28 of the Incorporated Societies Act, 1908.

ENGLAND.—WEST COAST.—BRISTOL CHANNEL.

Hartland Point Light.—Corrections to certain Charts.

Position.—Lat. 51° 01' N., long. 4° 32' W. (approx.).
Details.—On some copies of charts Nos. 1178, 2675a, and 1824a the period of this alternating flashing (W.W.R.) light is incorrectly shown as "one minute" and on some copies of chart No. 1179 as "30 seconds." The correct period is "90 seconds," as stated in the Admiralty List of Lights, and the abridged descriptions on the charts affected are to be corrected accordingly.

In the abridged description of this light on chart No. 1179, "Fl." is to be substituted for "Rev."

NORTH PACIFIC OCEAN.—CAROLINE ISLANDS, YAP ISLAND.

Hunter Reef.—Shoal Depth westward of.

Position.—At a distance of about 7 miles westward of Hunter Reef. Lat. 9° 57' 00" N., long. 138° 16' 00" E., on chart No. 980.

Depth.—15 fathoms (27m4).
Remarks.—The 1,310 fathom (2,395m7) depth, shown close to this position on charts Nos. 980 and 781, is to be expunged.

UNITED STATES, PACIFIC COAST.—JUAN DE FUCA STRAIT.

Swiftsure Bank.—Amended Position of Light-vessel; W/T Fog-Signal established:

(1.) Amended position of light-vessel:

Amended Position.—At a distance of about one mile south-westward of chartered position. Lat. 48° 31' 30" N., long. 125° 00' 00" W., on chart No. 1911.

(2.) W/T Fog-signal established:

Wave length.—1,000 metres.
Details.—A wireless fog-signal which, during thick or foggy weather, transmits signals continuously, consisting of a series of double dashes every minute, thus: &c., 35 sec.; silence, 25 sec.

WEST INDIES, JAMAICA,—PORT ROYAL EASTERN APPROACH.

Plum Poin Light.—Alteration in Character.

Former Notice.—No. 108 of 1924 [PRELIMINARY]; hereby cancelled.

Position.—On the northern side of East channel. Lat. 17° 56' N., long. 76° 47' W. (approx.).
Abridged description.—(U) Fl. W.R. ev. 9 sec. 70 ft. 14, 12 M.
Details.—The fixed light with white and red sectors has been replaced by a flashing light, with white and red sectors, every nine seconds, thus: Flash 1·5 sec., eclipse 7·5 sec.

Remarks.—The light is unwatched. The visibility of the red light is now 12 miles; the limits of the sectors and remaining characteristics are unaltered.

CHILE.—PORT SAN ANTONIO APPROACH.
Panal Point.—Light and Occasional Fog-signal established.
(a.) Light:

Position.—At a distance of 7·9 cables 359° from the flashing white light on outer end of Port San Antonio breakwater. Lat. 33° 36' S., long. 71° 39' W. (approx.).
Abridged description.—Fl. ev. 6 sec., 279 ft., 15 M.

Characteristics:

Character.—Flashing white every six seconds, thus: Flash 1 sec., eclipse 5 sec.
Elevation.—279 ft. (85m0). Visibility.—15 miles.
Structure.—White cylindrical concrete tower; 16 ft. (4m9) in height.

(b.) Occasional fog-signal:

Position.—At the above lighthouse.
Abridged description.—Siren ev. min. (occasl.).
Details.—An electric fog-siren, sounding one blast of three seconds duration, every minute.
Remarks.—The fog-signal is not sounded on public holidays, or on Sundays after 11.30 a.m.; on other days it is sounded only occasionally.

MALACCA STRAIT.—MALAY PENINSULA.
Penang Harbour.—Extension of Quarantine Anchorage Alteration in Light on Light-buoy.

(1.) Extension of Quarantine anchorage:

Position.—Quarantine anchorage, north-eastern corner.
Lat. 5° 24' N., long. 100° 21' E. (approx.).

Details.—(a.) The northern side of Quarantine anchorage is to be extended for a distance of 0·9 of a cable in a 082° direction, from its eastern end.

(b.) The south-eastern side of Quarantine anchorage is to be extended for a distance of 1·4 cables in a 060° direction, from its eastern end.

The line joining the eastern extremities of (a) and (b) now forms the new eastern side of Quarantine anchorage.

(2.) Alteration in light on light-buoy:

Position.—On the eastern side of harbour, at entrance to Prai River.

Details.—The white and green vertical lights on this light-buoy have been replaced by two fixed white lights, arranged horizontally.

AUSTRALIA.—VICTORIA.

Wreck of s.s. "Wyrallah."

Mariners and others are hereby notified that the wreck of the s.s. "Wyrallah," sunk in collision at Port Phillip Heads on the night of the 8th April, has been located about 700 ft. to the eastward of the line of the Obelisk and High Light, and 1,000 ft. to the westward of the line of beacons in the Point Longsdale bight indicating Clark's Channel.

Until further notice, the channel to the eastward of the Obelisk and the High Light, and also Clark's Channel, have been closed to navigation.

SUVA.

Nasalai Light.

It is hereby notified, for general information, that on the 15th day of April, 1924, the character of Nasalai light will be changed from a double flashing white light every thirty seconds to an A.G.A. unattended flash light visible 12 miles in clear weather through an arc of 360°.

The character of the A.G.A. light will be one flash every 3 seconds thus: 0·3 sec. light, 2·7 sec. eclipse.

The light will be exhibited from the existing tower, the height of the focal plane remaining unaltered.

PACIFIC OCEAN, MACQUARIE ISLANDS.—EXISTENCE OF IVERS SHOAL.

NOTICE is hereby given that a shoal, called Ivers Shoal by the whalers, having upon it an estimated depth of five fathoms, is reported to exist to the northward of Macquarie Islands.

The position of the shoal is given as latitude 54° 07·6′ S., longitude 159° 22·2′ E.; 034°, distant 25 miles (approx.), from North Head.

The shoal was discovered by Mr. Iversen, gunner of a whaling-vessel, who states that he stopped his vessel and remained stationary watching the breakers for about twenty minutes; and that he has no doubt of this being a shoal which is very dangerous to shipping.
