Reserve in Nelson Land District for Lease by Public Auction.
District Lands and Survey Office,
Nelson, 24th March, 1924.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned reserve
will be offered for lease by public auction at this
office on Wednesday, 7th May, 1924, at 11 o'clock a.m.,
under the provisions of the Public Reserves and Domains
Act, 1908, and the Public Bodies' Leases Act, 1908, and
amendments.
SCHEDULE.
NELSON LAND DISTRICT.
Inangahua County.—Mauheraiti Survey District.
SECTION 3, Block IV : Area, 171 acres 1 rood 18 perches ;
upset annual rental, £2 10s.; term of lease, fourteen years.
LOCALITY AND DESCRIPTION.
Situated about seven miles from Reefton on main road to
Greymouth. Poor terrace bush land with a few patches of
good land, notably about 20 acres between road leading to
the Maimai and the Little Grey River, and about 15 acres at
southern end of the section.
ABSTRACT OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF LEASE.

The highest bidder shall be the purchaser.
-
One half-year's rent, together with rent for broken period
and £1 ls. lease fee, to be deposited on the fall of the hammer. -
Term of lease, fourteen years without right of renewal.

No compensation shall be claimed by the lessee for any
improvements effected. -
Possession will be given on day of sale.

The rent shall be payable half-yearly in advance on the
1st January and 1st July in each year. -
The reserve is to be ring-fenced within twelve months
from date of possession. -
The lessee shall also within twelve months from date of
possession, securely fence off an area of 5 acres of the reserve
at a point nearest to the junction of the Greymouth-Reefton
Road with access from the Little Grey Road, which area shall
be available at all times for the use of travelling stock free of
charge. -
The lessee will have no right to sublet, transfer, or otherwise
dispose of the land comprised in the lease, except with
the written consent of the Commissioner of Crown Lands first
had and obtained. -
The lessee shall prevent the growth and spread of gorse,
broom, and sweetbrier on the land comprised in the lease;
and he shall with all reasonable despatch remove, or cause to
be removed, all gorse, sweetbrier, broom, or other noxious
weeds or plants as may be directed by the Commissioner of
Crown Lands. -
The lease will be liable to forfeiture in case the lessee
shall fail to fulfil any of the said conditions within thirty days
after the date on which the same ought to be fulfilled.
