Boundaries of Borough of Rangiora altered.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 28th day of March, 1924.

Present :

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS, in pursuance of section one hundred and thirty-two of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, a petition was presented to the Governor-General praying that a certain area be excluded from the Borough of Rangiora, and included in the County of Rangiora :

And whereas a Commission appointed under the said section held inquiries, and recommended certain alterations of the said area :

And whereas it is deemed expedient to make the alterations of the boundaries of the said borough recommended by the said Commission :

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the said Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that as on and from the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four, the area described in the Schedule hereto shall be excluded from the Borough of Rangiora and included in the County of Rangiora.

SCHEDULE.

AREA EXCLUDED FROM THE BOROUGH OF RANGIORA.

ALL that area of land in the Canterbury Land District, commencing at a point on the western side of the Rangiora West Town Belt in line with the southern side of the borough drain intersecting Section 473, Block VI, Rangiora Survey District; thence easterly, southerly, and again easterly along the southern side of the said borough drain to White Street; thence southerly along the western side of White Street to John Street; thence westerly along the northern side of John Street to a point in line with the eastern side of Green Street; thence across John Street and along the eastern side of Green Street to Boys Road; across Boys Road; and westerly along the southern side of the said Boys Road to the West Town Belt; across the West Town Belt, and northerly along its western side to Southbrook Road; thence westerly along the south side of the said Southbrook Road to a point in line with the western side of the West Town Belt; thence northerly along that said western side to the point of commencement. Also all that area of land commencing at a point on the Christchurch-Rangiora Railway at its intersection by Northbrook Road, thence easterly along the southern side of Northbrook Road to its intersection with the East Town Belt; across the East Town Belt to its eastern side; and southerly along that side to the stream forming part of the northern boundary of Section 349, Blocks VI, VII, X, and XI, Rangiora Survey District; thence easterly along that stream to the eastern boundary of the said Section 349; thence southerly along that eastern boundary to Boys Road'; across that road, and westerly along its southern side to the eastern boundary of the Christchurch-Rangiora Railway; thence northerly along that railway to the point of commencement.
