REGULATION.
Clause 40 is amended by inserting, after the words “Swine from New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, and Tasmania, 30 days,” the words “Dogs from the United Kingdom, 6 months, such time to include, notwithstanding any previous provision in this regulation, the period from the date of embarkation of the animal in Great Britain to its removal into quarantine in New Zealand.”

Authorizing the Wairarapa Electric-power Board to Purchase the Electric Works of the Martinborough Town Board.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 17th day of March, 1924.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE SIR FRANCIS BELL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by section forty-nine of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1918, as amended by section seventeen of the Electric-power Boards Amendment Act, 1920, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth, subject to the conditions set forth in the Schedule hereto, hereby authorize the purchase by the Wairarapa Electric-power Board, duly constituted under the provisions of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1918, of the electric works of the Martinborough Town Board authorized by Orders in Council issued to such Board on the thirteenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, and the ninth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, and published in the New Zealand Gazettes No. 77 of the sixteenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, and No. 116 of the twelfth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, respectively.
CONDITIONS.

The Wairarapa Electric-power Board shall purchase the electric works of the Martinborough Town Board hereinbefore mentioned (including land, generating-station, plant, lines, and services) for the sum of five thousand eight hundred and fifty-seven pounds (£5,857).

The said Electric-power Board shall accept the Martinborough Town Board’s existing loans of £4,500 at 5 per centum, £450 at 5½ per centum, and £300 at 6 per centum, and shall pay the balance of the said purchase-money in cash, after taking to account the accrued sinking funds on the said existing loans.

The said Town Board shall accept the covenant of the said Electric-power Board to meet the interest and sinking-fund charges on the said existing loans with the Public Trustee.

Consenting to the Raising of Loans by certain Local Authorities.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 17th day of March, 1924.

THE HONOURABLE SIR FRANCIS BELL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS application has been made under section twenty, subsection one, of the Finance Act, 1919, for the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council to enable the several local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto to borrow the sums set out therein, and it is expedient that such consent should issue:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the raising of the loans hereinafter mentioned by the several local authorities set out in the Schedule hereto, and it is hereby declared that this Order in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the Finance Act, 1919, and shall operate accordingly as a consent of the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the said loans.
