to enable the several local authorities mentioned in the
Schedule hereto to borrow the sums set out therein, and it
is expedient that such consent should issue:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
doth hereby consent to the raising of the loans hereinafter
mentioned by the several local authorities set out in the
Schedule hereto, and it is hereby declared that this Order
in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the
Finance Act, 1919, and shall operate accordingly as a consent
of the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the said
loans.

Changing the Purpose of a Reserve in Kaponga Village,
Taranaki Land District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 4th day of
March, 1924.
Present:
His EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
was reserved for a public-pound site, being a
purpose within Class I of the Public Reserves and Domains
Act, 1908:
And whereas it is expedient that such land shall be appro-
priated for municipal purposes, being a purpose within the
said Class I:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and
in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him
by the fourth section of the Public Reserves and Domains
Act, 1908, doth hereby declare that the said land shall, from
and after the date hereof, be appropriated for municipal pur-
poses under Class I of the Public Reserves and Domains Act,
1908.
SCHEDULE.
Prohibiting the Importation of Oats, Barley, Maize, Hay,
Straw, and Chaff from the United States of America and
from Queensland and Western Australia, and restricting the
Importation of the Same from the other Australian States.-

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 4th day of
March, 1924.
Present:
His EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon him by section forty-six of the Customs
Act, 1913, as amended by the Customs Amendment Act,
1921, and of every other power and authority enabling him
in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the
Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
doth hereby prohibit absolutely the importation of oats,
barley, maize, hay, straw, and chaff from the United States
of America and from the States of Queensland and Western
Australia in the Commonwealth of Australia; and doth
further prohibit, save with the precedent consent of the
Minister of Agriculture, the importation of oats, barley,
maize, hay, straw, and chaff from any State in the Common-
wealth of Australia other than Queensland and Western
Australia.

Regulations under the Stamp Duties Act, 1923.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the
Stamp Duties Act, 1923 (hereinafter referred to as
the said Act), and of all other powers and authorities enabling
him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
Dominion, doth hereby make the regulations hereinafter set
forth, and doth hereby declare that the said regulations
shall come into force on the day of the publication thereof
in the Gazette.
REGULATIONS.
PART I. GENERAL.
- THE Head Office of the Stamp Duties Office, being the
office of the Commissioner, is and shall be at Wellington.
Offices of the Stamp Duties Office being offices of Assistant
Commissioners are and shall be situated at Auckland, Gis-
bome, Napier, New Plymouth, Wellington, Nelson, Blenheim,
Hokitika, Christchurch, Dunedin, and Invercargill. - The Stamp Duties Office shall be open to the public
for transaction of business on days other than holidays, as
follows : 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m., 1.30 p.m. to 3 p.m., except on
Saturdays, when the hours shall be 9.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. - Adhesive stamps shall be created for the Commissioner
by the Government Printer, under the direction of the Com-
missioner. - Impressed stamps shall be created by the Commissioner
at the Head Office, or by the Government Printer at the
direction and on behalf of the Commissioner.
