NOTICE is hereby given that the Public Trustee has filed in the Supreme Court an election to administer in respect of the several estates of the persons deceased whose names, residences, and occupations (so far as known) are hereunder set forth, the gross property in each case being estimated not to exceed £400 in value.

By-laws made by the Te Arawa Maori Council for the Supervision and Control of the Maketu Water-supply and approved of by the Director of Maori Hygiene in Terms of By-law No. 62 of the Maori Councils Act, 1900.

  1. THE charges to Natives shall be 10s. (ten shillings) for each tap per annum, with the exception that when used by more than one family the charge shall be 7s. 6d. (seven shillings and sixpence) per tap per family per annum.
  2. The charges to Natives using Marae or public taps shall be 7s. 6d. (seven shillings and sixpence) per family per annum.
  3. The charges to Europeans shall be 20s. (twenty shillings) per tap per annum, with the exception that when using Marae or public taps the charge shall be 15s. (fifteen shillings) per family per annum.
  4. All such charges to be paid to the Komiti Marae of Maketu, whose receipt shall be a sufficient discharge, provided same is signed by the Chairman or some member on his behalf.
  5. The year to commence on the 1st of January, when the charges are due, and which are payable to the Komiti Marae of Maketu (Chairman) not later than the 28th of February in each year.
  6. Water rates remaining unpaid after the owner or occupier of the premises has received three days’ notice to pay from the Chairman of the Komiti Marae, the supply shall be cut off by the Chairman or some deputed person, and no connection shall be reinstated until all charges are paid. In default of payment, the Komiti Marae shall report to the Te Arawa Maori Council, who shall take action according to law.
  7. All moneys received by the Komiti Marae for water charges to be properly entered in a book of the Komiti Marae
