license, or within such further time as the Minister may allow in the event of the work being delayed by strikes, lock-outs, breakdowns, or other unavoidable causes not due to any neglect by the licensee.

  1. GRANTING OF OTHER WATER-RIGHTS.
    Nothing herein shall prevent the Governor-General in Council from granting to any person or body corporate other than the licensee a license to take water from any portion of the said stream, except at the place where the licensee is by this license empowered to take it; provided that no such license shall so operate as to reduce the natural fall between the headworks and tail-water, or the volume of the water which the licensee is by this license authorized to take from the said stream.
  2. FINES.
    If the licensee fails or neglects-(a.) To use or maintain the said works, after completion, so as to secure the full benefit of the undertaking, or (b.) To observe any of the conditions or obligations herein imposed,-then, and in any such case, the licensee shall be liable to a fine of Β£50 for every week or part of a week during which such default or neglect continues, or the Governor-General may by Order in Council revoke this license.
  3. SURRENDER OF LICENSE.
    The licensee may at any time, with the consent of the Minister, surrender this license, and shall thereupon, if so required by the Minister, remove from the ground all removable equipment, machinery, buildings, poles, transmission-lines, and other plant herein authorized to be installed or provided. If the licensee fails or neglects so to remove the said plant within twelve months after being required so to do, such equipment, machinery, buildings, poles, lines, and other plant shall, without payment of any compensation, vest in and become the property of the Crown.
  4. REQUIREMENTS OF THE LAKE COUNTY COUNCIL.
    Notwithstanding anything hereinbefore contained, the licensee shall not be entitled to erect, maintain, or use any electric lines within the Lake County, except subject to such conditions, not inconsistent with the provisions of this license and the regulations relating thereto, or any variation of this license or the regulations, or new regulations which may take the place of these regulations, as may from time to time be agreed upon between the licensee and the Lake County Council.

    Partial Revocation of Order in Council setting apart Land under the Workers' Dwellings Act, 1910.

    ORDER IN COUNCIL.
    At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 12th day of February, 1924.
    Present:
    THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
    WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the fourteenth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, and gazetted on the first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, the land described in the Schedule hereto was (inter alia) set apart for the purposes of the Workers' Dwellings Act, 1910 :
    And whereas it now appears that the said land is no longer required for such purposes:
    Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred on him by subsection two of section nine of the Housing Act, 1919, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the said Order in Council in so far as it relates to the said land described in the Schedule hereto.
    SCHEDULE.
    WILLS SETTLEMENT.
    ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 3 acres 3 roods 15.1 perches, more or less, being Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, Block LX, Town of Te Aroha.

    Prohibiting all Alienation of certain Native Land other than Alienation in favour of the Crown.

    ORDER IN COUNCIL.
    At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 12th day of February, 1924.
    Present:
    THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
    ON the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase Board, referred to in section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise of the power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby prohibit, for the period of one year from the date of this Order in Council, all alienation of the Native land specified in the Schedule hereto other than alienation in favour of the Crown.
    SCHEDULE.
    PARAWAI No. 1B Block, Rotorua Survey District : Approximate area, 14 acres 3 roods 8 perches.

    McKenzie's Road in the Rangitikei County exempted from the Provisions of Section 117 of the Public Works Act, 1908.

    ORDER IN COUNCIL.
    At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 18th day of February, 1924.
    Present:
    THE HONOURABLE SIR FRANCIS BELL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
    IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Works Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the following resolution passed by the Rangitikei County Council on the 24th day of January, 1924, viz.-"The Rangitikei County Council, being the local authority having control of that road known as McKenzie's Road, a road 50 links in width extending from the Scott's Ferry Road to the Rangitikei River along the north-east boundary of Original Section 11, Block 1, Te Kawau Survey District, shown upon the annexed tracing and marked A to B, by resolution declares that the provisions of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, shall not apply to the said road "; such road being described in the Schedule hereto.
    SCHEDULE.
    ALL that road in the Wellington Land District, Rangitikei County, known as McKenzie's Road, adjoining the north-eastern boundary of Original Section 11, Block I, Te Kawau Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 58926, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured blue.
