exceeds 8 tons in all or 800 lb. per inch width on rubber tire
in contact with the street or road surface.
“ 17. During the whole of the month of May, June, July,
August, and September in each year no person shall drive or
cause to be driven on any road or street any vehicle of any
description within the definition of “ Heavy traffic,” except
in strict conformity to the following regulations and con-
ditions that is to say :—
“ (a.) Except where inconsistent with these regulations, the
general and foregoing by-laws shall apply.
“ (b.) On any metalled road all wheels of such vehicle shall
at all times be kept upon (and at least one foot
within the edge of the metalled portion of the
road, except where turning or crossing or when
and during such time as the general conditions
of the traffic or the safety of the public or other
unavoidable cause renders the same inexpedient
or unsafe.
“ (c.) The load on the back axle shall not exceed 6 tons
in all or 600 lb. per inch width of rubber tire in
contact with the street or road surface.
“ 18. Any person committing a breach of any of these by-
laws shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding five
ounds for each offence.”

LIQUIDATION.
NOTICE is hereby given that at a meeting of the members
of THE CEMENT PIPE COMPANY (LIMITED), held on
the fifth day of December, 1923, a special resolution was
passed that the company be wound up voluntarily, and that
FRANCIS ARTHUR PYNE, Accountant, 146 Manchester Street,
Christchurch, be appointed Liquidator.

THE PALMERSTON NORTH CLUB (INCORPORATED).
AT a general meeting of the members of the above club,
duly convened and held at the rooms of the club,
Cuba Street, Palmerston North, on Tuesday, 15th November,
1923, the following resolutions were passed, viz. :—
(1.) That the club be wound up.
(2.) That the assets be realized, and that, after paying all
debts due by the club, the balance of proceeds be handed
to the All Saints Children’s Home, Palmerston North.

SUBSCRIPTIONS. — The subscription is at the rate of
£4 per annum, including postage, PAYABLE IN ADVANCE.
A less period than three months cannot be subscribed for.
Single copies of the Gazette as follows :—
Ordinary Weekly Gazette: For the first 32 pages, 9d. ;
increasing by 3d. for every subsequent 16 pages or
part thereof; postage, 1d.
Supplementary and Extraordinary Gazettes: For the
first 8 pages, 6d. ; over 8 pages and not exceeding
32 pages, 9d. ; increasing by 3d. for every subsequent
16 pages or part thereof; postage, 1d.
Advertisements are charged at the rate of 6d. per line
for the first insertion, and 3d. per line for the second and
any subsequent insertion.
Statements under the Mining Act are uniformly charged
23s.
All advertisements should be written on one side of the
paper, and signatures, &c., should be written in a legible
hand.
The number of insertions required must be written across
the face of the advertisement.
The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday evening
of each week, and notices for insertion must be received by
the Government Printer before 3 o’clock of the day preceding
publication.
