TAKAKA COUNTY COUNCIL.

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908, and its
amendments, and of the lands hereinafter mentioned
and described.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Corporation of the
Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County
of Takaka proposes to take, under the provisions of the
Public Works Act, 1908, and its amendments, for the pur-
poses of a public road,—

Firstly, all that piece of land situate in the County of
Takaka, containing one acre three roods fourteen perches
(1 acre 3 roods 14 perches), more or less, being part of
“Wainui 2A” part of Section numbered Eleven (11), Square
Twelve (12), Block Three (III), Totaranui Survey District :

Secondly, all those pieces of land situate as aforesaid con-
taining one rood (1 rood) and one acre on rood twenty perches
(1 acre 1 rood 20 perches) respectively, being parts of “Wainui
2B” part of Section numbered Eleven (11), Square Twelve
(12), Block Three (III), Totaranui Survey District aforesaid.

A plan of the said lands, showing the names of the owners
and occupiers thereof, is deposited for inspection at the office
of the County Clerk situate at Commercial Street, Takaka.

All persons affected are hereby called upon to set forth in
writing any well-grounded objections to the taking of the
said lands or the proposed work, and to send such writing,
within forty (40) days from the first publication of this notice
to the said Corporation at Takaka aforesaid.

TAIERI RIVER TRUST.

BOUNDARIES OF SPECIAL-RATING DISTRICT.

IN respect of loan of £75,000 proposed to be raised for
river-improvement and drainage works, it was resolved
at a meeting of the Trust, held in the Trust’s Office, Mosgiel,
on Monday, 19th November, 1923, that the undernoted
constitute the special-rating district in connection with the
above proposal:—

Commencing at the centre of the Taieri River at the West
Taieri Traffic-bridge, thence by the centre of the said river
to the Waipori Lake outlet channel, near the steel traffic-
bridge at Henley; thence in a north-westerly direction
across the Taieri River; thence along the left bank of the
Waipori Lake outlet channel to the shore of Lake Waipori;
thence along the southern, eastern, and northern shores of
Lake Waipori, to the left bank of Waipori River; thence
along the left bank of the Waipori River to a point
immediately opposite the south-western corner of Section 14,
Block II, Maungatua District; thence across the Henley-
Berwick Road and along the east side of the said road to its
intersection with the main road Berwick to Outram; thence
along the Berwick-Outram Road to its intersection with
the Woodside Road at the north-east corner of Section 1,
Block 4, West Taieri District; thence by the Woodside Road
to Woodside; thence by Woodside-Outram Road to the
western boundary of River Section 38, West Taieri; thence
along western and northern boundaries of said Section 38 to
the Taieri River; thence along the river to the West Taieri
Bridge, and across the bridge to the point of commencement;
excluding Government railways, the Township of Outram,
Outram Extension, and River Section 38, West Taieri.
