Tenders for Supply of Uniforms.

TENDERS will be received at the office of the Secretary, General Post Office, Wellington, not later than 4 p.m. on Wednesday, the 7th February, 1923, for the supply and delivery of uniforms, cloth and waterproof, caps and helmets, during the half-year ending 30th June, 1923.

Forms and conditions of tender may be obtained at the office of the Stores Manager, Post and Telegraph Department, Wellington, and the offices of the Chief Postmasters, Auckland, Christchurch, and Dunedin.

Plant declared to be a Noxious Weed by the Masterton County Council.—Notice No. 2242.

IT is hereby notified, for public information, that the Masterton County Council has, by special order, declared broom to be a noxious weed within the meaning of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1908, in the district under its jurisdiction.

Cancellation of Notice under the Shops and Offices Act fixing the Closing-hours of Tobacconists’ Shops in the Borough of New Plymouth.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the tobacconists’ shops in the Borough of New Plymouth, has been forwarded to me, desiring that the notice fixing the closing-hours of all tobacconists’ shops within the Borough of New Plymouth under the Shops and Offices Act, 1908, dated the 24th day of February, 1922, and contained in the New Zealand Gazette No. 16, of the 2nd March, 1922, be cancelled :

And whereas I, George James Anderson, Minister of Labour, am satisfied that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the tobacconists’ shops within the Borough of New Plymouth :

Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 32 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, I do hereby direct that the notice gazetted on the 2nd March, 1922, fixing the closing-hours of tobacconists’ shops in the Borough of New Plymouth shall be and is hereby cancelled as from the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette.
