I HEREBY notify that at the fifteenth annual general meeting of the above company held in the Opera House, Lincoln Road, Masterton, on Wednesday, the 22nd day of August, 1923, at 11.30 a.m., the following extraordinary resolution was passed:—

“That it is proved to its satisfaction that the company cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same.”

LEVIN BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Levin Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £24,000, authorized to be raised by the Levin Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of erecting municipal buildings, the said Levin Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of six-sevenths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Levin, comprising the whole of the Borough of Levin; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

THE METAL STORES (LIMITED).

MINUTES OF EXTRAORDINARY GENERAL MEETING HELD AT THE REGISTERED OFFICE, VICTORIA STREET, HAMILTON, ON SATURDAY, 25TH AUGUST, 1923, AT 7.30 P.M.

THE following extraordinary resolutions were passed:—

  1. That the company be wound up voluntarily, it having been proved to the satisfaction of the company that it cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same.

  2. That Mr. A. E. WARNOCK, of Auckland, Public Accountant, be and he is hereby appointed Liquidator for the purposes of such winding-up.

NOTICE is hereby given that Mr. Peter Oliphant, owing to old age and ill health, has retired as from the 1st day of July, 1923, from the firm of Oliphant and Oliphant, Barristers and Solicitors, 10 High Street, Auckland. The business will be carried on under the name of Oliphant and Oliphant by the continuing partner, Mr. WILLIAM OLIPHANT.

SOUTH CANTERBURY SPORTS GROUND COMPANY (LIMITED).

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

NOTICE is hereby given that at a special meeting of members held on the 24th July, 1923, the following resolution was passed:—

“That the company go into voluntary liquidation; and that W. D. REVELL be appointed Liquidator of the company.”

This resolution was confirmed at a confirmatory meeting held on the 7th August, 1923.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

NOTICE is hereby given that at a meeting of Messrs. Kahn and Huggins (Limited) held at Nelson on 19th July, 1923, the following resolution was passed:—

“That for the purpose of reconstruction the company be wound up as from 19th July, 1923, and H. KAHN of Wellington be appointed Liquidator.”

I, JOHN MACKAY YOUNG, Bachelor of Medicine and of Surgery, now residing in Dunedin, hereby give notice that I intend applying on the 21st September next to have my name placed on the Medical Register of the Dominion of New Zealand; and that I have deposited the evidence of my qualification in the office of the Registrar of Births and Deaths at Dunedin.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership subsisting between JAMES WALLACE, ROBERT SCOTT WALLACE, HENRY WILLIAM HOTSON, and DONALD MACRAE at Auckland, trading under the name of “Gavin, Wallace, and Sons,” has been dissolved as from the 9th day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three (1923).

MASTERTON COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE OVER THE MANAWA SPECIAL RATING AREA.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Masterton County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of seven hundred pounds, authorized to be raised by the Masterton County Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of metalling the Manawa Road in the Upper Tauru Riding of the County of Masterton, the said Masterton County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of nine-sixteenths of a penny in the pound upon the capital rateable value of all the rateable property of the Manawa Special Rating Area, being all that area of land in the Upper Tauru Riding of the County of Masterton, being Sections 145/147, 150/152, 157, 182, 787/789, Blocks II and VI, of the Mangapakeha Survey District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the first days of February and August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
