Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Council of the Borough of Lower Hutt, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

LOWER HUTT BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Result of Poll on Proposal to raise Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Lower Hutt Borough was taken on Wednesday, the 15th day of August, 1923, on a proposal to raise a special loan of £14,000 for the purchase of certain land in the Lower Hutt Borough for the use, enjoyment, or recreation of the inhabitants of the said borough.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 336, and the number of votes against the proposal was 36.

I therefore declare the proposal carried.

Defence Rifle Clubs disbanded.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has approved of the disbandment, under section 43, Defence Act, 1909, of the undermentioned Defence Rifle Clubs:—

New Zealand Farmers’ Union Mounted Defence Rifle Club, with headquarters at Pokeno.
Papakura Defence Rifle Club, with headquarters at Papakura.
Waiuku Defence Rifle Club, with headquarters at Waiuku.

Date of disbandment, 15th August, 1923.

Appointments in New Zealand Naval Forces.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the following appointments in the New Zealand Naval Forces:—

Commodore Alan Geoffrey Hotham, C.B., C.M.G., as Naval Adviser to the Government of New Zealand’s representative at the Imperial Conference in London, to take effect from date of assembly of Conference.

Commodore Alister Francis Beal, C.M.G., as Commodore Commanding the New Zealand Station and the New Zealand Naval Forces, and as First Naval Member of the Naval Board constituted in and for the Dominion of New Zealand, to date 24th August, 1923, vice Commodore Alan Geoffrey Hotham, C.B., C.M.G.
