Results of Polls for Proposed Loans.
Wellington, 1st August, 1923.
THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Council of the Borough of Eketa-huna, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

EKETAHUNA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Result of Polls.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at polls of the ratepayers of the Eketa-huna Borough taken on the 25th day of July, 1923, on the following proposals, viz. :
No. 1 Loan.—To borrow the sum of £3,000 for the purpose of purchasing a site and erecting thereon municipal buildings, to include a public reading-room and library, and the fitting-up and furnishing of the said building ;
No. 2 Loan.—To borrow the sum of £350 for the purpose of purchasing stone-crushing machinery, including electric motor-power for driving same ;
the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the above proposals was as follows,—
No. 1 Loan, Municipal Buildings : For the proposal, 76 votes ; against the proposal, 40 votes.
No. 2 Loan, Stone-crushing Machinery : For the proposal, 89 votes ; against the proposal, 26 votes ; informal, 1 vote.
I therefore declare that both the above-mentioned proposals were carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Board of the Otorohanga Town District, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

OTOROHANGA TOWN DISTRICT.
Result of Poll on Proposal to raise Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Otorohanga Town District was taken on the 6th day of July, 1923, on the proposal of the Otorohanga Town Board to borrow the sum of £10,000—
(1.) (a.) For the purchase of the necessary land and material, and for the survey, construction, and installation of a water-supply from Mr. Cater’s property to the Otorohanga Township.
(b.) For the provisions of the necessary mains in the Otorohanga Township and the reticulation of the streets in the township.
(2.) That the Otorohanga Town District, being unable to provide for the necessary funds out of the ordinary revenue, proposes to borrow a sum not exceeding £10,000.
(3.) That the proposed security for the repayment of such loan shall be a special rate of 3d. and 11/16ths of a penny in the pound on the unimproved value of all rateable property in the Otorohanga Town District.
(4.) That the Otorohanga Town Board proposes to make such special loan repayable in 36½ years, and proposes to make provision for a sinking fund of not less than £1 per centum per annum.
(5.) That the Otorohanga Town Board proposes to pay out of such loan the cost of raising the loan and the interest and the sinking fund for the first year.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 58, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 3.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

THE following notices, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Inglewood, are published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

INGLEWOOD COUNTY COUNCIL.
Results of Polls on Proposals to raise Loans.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the County of Inglewood was taken on the 11th day of July, 1923, on the proposal of the Inglewood County Council to borrow the sum of £24,800 for main road improvements.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 265, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 86.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the County of Inglewood was taken on the 11th day of July, 1923, on the proposal of the Inglewood County Council to borrow the sum of £1,200 for erection of county offices.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 246, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 104 ; informal, 1.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Special Order made by the Rodney County Council merging Road Districts.

THE following special order, made by the Rodney County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Act, 1920.

RODNEY COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Order authorizing Merging of Road Districts.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 30 of the Counties Act, 1920, the Rodney County Council hereby resolves and declares, by way of special order, that on and after the day of the gazetting of this special order the road districts of Albertland South, Albertland North, Komokoriki, Mahurangi East, Puhoi, Warkworth, and Wharehine shall be merged in the County of Rodney and the Boards thereof abolished.
The above special order was made and passed at a special meeting of the Rodney County Council held at Warkworth on the 19th day of June, 1923, and advertised in the Rodney and Otamatea Times of June 20th and 27th, and July 4th, 11th, and 18th, 1923, and confirmed at an ordinary meeting of the said Council held at Warkworth on Tuesday, the 24th day of July, 1923.
In witness whereof the common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Rodney was hereunto affixed this 24th day of July, 1923, in the presence of—

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block XIV, Tarawera Survey District, for the Purposes of a Gravel-pit.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of a gravel-pit in Block XIV, Tarawera Survey District. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Waiotapu, and is there open for inspection ; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken : 2 acres 3 roods 37 perches.
Being part Rotomahana-Parekarangi No. 2E No. 4, situated in Block XIV, Tarawera Survey District (Auckland R.D.). (S.O. 22802.)
In the Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 57398, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured edged red.
