LOST POLICY.

THE EQUITABLE LIFE ASSURANCE SOCIETY OF UNITED STATES.

THE Policy No. 133315 on the life of William A. Simpson having been lost, I hereby give notice that a copy of the original will be issued, under section 59 of the Life Insurance Act, 1908, unless notice forbidding same be lodged within fourteen days of this date.

STRATFORD COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, the Stratford County Council hereby resolves as follows:
That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also other charges on a loan of £280, authorized to be raised by the Stratford County Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for defraying the cost of deviating, forming, and metalling about 25 chains of the Ahuroa Road West, the said Stratford County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of seven-sixteenths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Ahuroa Road West £280 Loan Special Rating Area, comprising Sections 14 and 15 of Block III, Ngaire Survey District, and Sections 11, 12, and 13 of Block XV, Huiroa Survey District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of February in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also other charges on a loan of £750, authorized to be raised by the Stratford County Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for defraying the cost of metalling the Oruru Road and part of the old East Road, the said Stratford County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny and seven-sixteenths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Oruru and East Roads £750 Loan Special Rating Area, comprising Lots 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, of Subs. 15, 17, 18, of Toko A and B Block ; Lot 7 of Toko B Block ; the western half of Lot 1 of Subs. 17 and 18 of Toko A and B Block ; Sub. 1 of Lot 1 and Sub. Allotment 2 of Sub. 18, Toko A and B Block ; part railway reserve (43 acres 2 roods 4 perches) adjoining the old East Road; and 200 acres of Toko B Block adjoining Lot 4 of Subs. 15, 17, 18, of Toko A and B Blocks. And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of February in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

MEDICAL REGISTRATION.

HENRY SALISBURY RAY, Bachelor of Medicine and I, Bachelor of Surgery, now residing in Dunedin, hereby give notice that I intend applying on the 29th July next to have my name placed on the Medical Register of the Dominion of New Zealand ; and that I have deposited the evidence of my qualification in the office of the Registrar of Births and Deaths at Dunedin.

THE UNITED MOTOR SERVICE (LIMITED).
IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

NOTICE is hereby given that the members of the above company, on the 12th day of June, 1923, passed a special resolution as follows :

"It was resolved to amalgamate with the Kaikoura Motor Company (Limited), and enter into voluntary liquidation as from 1st March, 1923."
And that on the 2nd day of July, 1923, the following special resolution was passed :—
"It was resolved that JOSEPH BERTRAM NEALE, Public Accountant, be appointed Liquidator of the company."
