ERRATA.—In the Proclamation dated 9th June, 1923, taking land for the Auckland-Westfield Deviation of the Kaipara-Waikato Railway, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 52, of 14th June, 1923, page 1633, in 23rd item of the Schedule, for 1 acre 0 roods 1·7 perches, part Lot 2, D.P. 12562, read 1 acre 0 roods 1·7 perches, part Lot 5, D.P. 12562.

The signature of the Secretary, Surveyors’ Board, at the end of the Survey Regulations, on page 1814 of Gazette No. 54, of 28th June, 1923, should read “M. Crompton-Smith” instead of “W. C. Smith.”

His Majesty’s Assent to Sea Carriage of Goods Act, 1922, and Date Act comes into Operation.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Sea Carriage of Goods Act, 1922, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the assent of His Majesty has been given to the Sea Carriage of Goods Act, 1922, and that the said Act shall come into operation on the day of the date of publication of this Proclamation in the New Zealand Gazette.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 1st day of June, 1923.

Land reserved under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the Scenery Preservation Board, constituted pursuant to the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), has recommended that the land described in the Schedule hereto should be permanently reserved for scenic purposes, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation :

Now, therefore, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be a scenic reserve under the said Act, and subject to the provisions thereof.

SCHEDULE.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.

SECTION 22, Block II, Maungakaretu Survey District : Area, 7 acres 2 roods.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 30th day of June, 1923.

Proclaiming Road-lines laid out through Portions of Wharekahika Block to be Public Roads.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the parcels of land described in the Schedule hereto were, by an order of the Native Land Court made on the second day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twelve, duly laid out as road-lines, in pursuance of section one hundred and seventeen of the Native Land Act, 1909 :

And whereas by section two of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1918, it is provided that where any road-line has heretofore been laid out under the said section one hundred and seventeen and has not been proclaimed as a public road, then such road-line may be proclaimed as a public road under section forty-eight of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1913, subject, however, to the conditions prescribed by section fifty-one of the last-mentioned Act and section fifteen of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1914 :

And whereas the said Court is of the opinion that in the public interest the said road-lines should be proclaimed as
