Chief Writer Charles J. Reynolds, promoted to Acting Warrant Writer and appointed to H.M.S. “Chatham,” additional for duty at Navy Office, Wellington; to date 10th May, 1923.

THE following notices, received from the Mayor of the Council of the City of Wellington, are published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL.
Onslow Water-supply and Drainage.—Result of Poll.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that the number of votes recorded upon the taking of the poll on the 26th April, 1923, for and against the proposal of the Council of the City of Wellington to borrow (by way of special loan within the meaning of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913) the sum of £95,000 for the provision of water-supply and drainage systems in the Onslow District, was as follows: For, 494; against, 45.
I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.
Kelburn and Karori Tramway Purchase.—Result of Poll.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that the number of votes recorded upon the taking of the poll on the 26th April, 1923, for and against the proposal of the Council of the City of Wellington to borrow (by way of special loan within the meaning of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913) the sum of £46,000 for the purchase of the cable tramway undertaking owned by the Kelburne and Karori Tramway Company (Limited) was as follows: For, 3,483; against, 8,433.
I therefore declare the proposal to be rejected.
Karori Water-supply and Drainage.—Result of Poll.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that the number of votes recorded upon the taking of the poll on the 26th April, 1923, for and against the proposal of the Council of the City of Wellington to borrow (by way of special loan within the meaning of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913) the sum of £88,000 for the provision of water-supply and drainage systems in the Karori District was as follows: For, 445; against, 33.
I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Council of the City of Christchurch, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL.
Notice of Result of Loan Poll.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give public notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the City of Christchurch, and of all persons entitled to vote on any proposal of the Christchurch City Council to raise a loan in respect of the said city, taken on the 26th day of April, 1923, on the proposal of the Christchurch City Council to borrow the sum of thirty-five thousand pounds (£35,000) for the following purposes—(1) to rebuild, remodel, and enlarge the premises formerly comprised in the Alexandra Hall and its adjuncts and other offices on that part of the Council’s land in Manchester Street adjoining the Municipal Offices now in course of erection; (2) to supply all things necessary or incidental thereto, including the necessary furnishing—the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 5,394, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 5,294. There were 1,547 informal voting-papers.
And I declare the proposal to be carried.
Dated this 4th day of May, 1923.
