of Christchurch, exempted from the Provisions of Section 117
of the Public Works Act, 1908.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 10th day
of May, 1923.

IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the
Public Works Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
Dominion, doth hereby approve of the following resolution
passed by the Christchurch City Council on the twenty-third
day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three,
viz.:—
“ The Christchurch City Council, having control of
Cowlishaw Street, in the City of Christchurch, hereby
declares that the provisions of section one hundred and
seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, shall not apply to
that portion of the said street fronting the western portion
of Lot 30, D.P. 350, part of R.S. 125, being part of the
land contained in certificate of title, Volume 268, folio 224”;;
such portion of street being described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that portion of street, situated in the Canterbury Land
District, City of Christchurch, known as Cowlishaw Street,
fronting part Lot 30, D.P. 350. As the said portion of street
is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D.
56908, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works
at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon
coloured blue.

ON the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase
Board, referred to in section three hundred and sixty-
three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise of the
power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section, His
Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby pro-
hibit, for the period of one year from the date of this Order
in Council, all alienation of the Native land specified in the
Schedule hereto other than alienation in favour of the
Crown.

Cook Islands Immigration Regulations amended.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 10th day of
May, 1923.
Present:
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred on
him by section fifty-three of the Cook Islands Act, 1915, and of
every other power and authority enabling him in that behalf, His
Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand,
acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend, in the manner set out in
the Schedule hereto, the regulations made under the said section
fifty-three on the third day of November, one thousand nine hundred
and twenty-two, and gazetted on the ninth day of the same month ;
and, with the like advice and consent, doth declare that the amend-
ment hereby made shall come into operation on the date of the
gazetting of this Order in Council.
SCHEDULE.
Clause 2 of the said regulations of the 3rd day of November, 1922,
is hereby amended by omitting the words “other than the Dominion
of New Zealand,” and substituting the words “including the Dominion
of New Zealand.”
