Order IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 10th day
of May, 1923.
Present:
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING
IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon him by the Animals Protection and
Game Act, 1921β22, and of all other powers and authorities
enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that opossums may
be taken or killed within the Westland Acclimatization
District described in the Schedule hereto, except in any
sanctuary or public domain, from the first day of June, one
thousand nine hundred and twenty-three, to the thirty-first
day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three,
both days inclusive, subject to the regulations made by
Order in Council dated the tenth day of May, one thousand
nine hundred and twenty-three.
And I do further notify that licenses to take or kill opossums
within the said district shall be issued to any person on pay-
ment of the sum of two pounds ten shillings each; and the
Chief Postmaster at Hokitika, and the Postmasters at Kumara,
Ross, and Okarito, are hereby appointed to sign and issue
such licenses to take or kill opossums.

WESTLAND ACCLIMATIZATION DISTRICT.
ALL that area comprising the County of Westland.
