Regulations under the Census and Statistics Act, 1910, and Counties Act, 1920.

JELLICOE, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the Census and Statistics Act, 1910, and by section two hundred and thirteen of the Counties Act, 1920, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby make the following regulations prescribing the forms and manner and the particulars which are required to be prepared and transmitted to the Government Statistician.

REGULATIONS.

  1. In addition to the matters set out in paragraphs (a) to (j) of section 21 of the Census and Statistics Act, 1910, and in section 213 of the Counties Act, 1920, the Statistician shall, subject to those sections, collect statistics of ratepayers and rateable properties, roads and bridges, rates levied, assets and liabilities, receipts and payments, licenses granted, and employees and wages of counties, road districts, and town districts.

  2. The Chairman, Clerk, Treasurer, or other officer of every County Council and of every Road Board shall, on application duly made, furnish annually to the Statistician the particulars set out in the First Schedule hereto as are applicable to the county or road district concerned, and in accordance with the instructions that may accompany any such form or that may be issued by the Government Statistician.

  3. The Chairman, Clerk, Treasurer, or other officer of every Town Board shall on application duly made prepare a return and such statistics as are applicable to the town district concerned in the form set out in the Second Schedule hereto, and in accordance with the instructions that may accompany any such forms that may be issued by the Government Statistician.

  4. The forms containing the information shall be signed by the person supplying the information, and shall thereafter be transmitted by post or otherwise in the manner and within the time specified in section two hundred and thirteen of the Counties Act, 1920.

  1. Number of ratepayers (in the case of counties this is to include only the ratepayers in that portion of the county not included in road or town districts)

  2. Number of rateable properties (in the case of counties this is to include only the rateable properties in that portion of the county not included in road or town districts)

  3. State whether rating on capital or unimproved value . .

B. ROADS AND BRIDGES : TOTAL EXISTING LENGTH OF.
