NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership hitherto existing between the undersigned, carrying on business at Okato, Taranaki, as General Storekeepers under the style of “J. S. Fox,” has been dissolved as from the 1st day of November, 1922. The business will be continued by the undersigned JAMES SMITH FOX, who will receive and pay all debts due to or owing by the late firm.

PURSUANT to the Mining Act, 1908, the undersigned, the Mercury Bay Co-operative Dairy Company (Limited), of Whitianga, Butter-makers, hereby applies for a license for a water-race as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.

Locality of the race, and of its starting and terminal points: Situated at Whitianga; starting-point at proposed dam in Enwright’s Creek on Section 16, Blocks VII and XII, Coromandel Survey District; terminal point at Butter-factory, Main Road, Whitianga.
Length and intended course of race: Approximately 212 chains, eastward.
Points of intake: One.
Estimated time and cost of construction: Nine months; £1,800.
Mean depth and breadth: Pipe-line; iron pipes 3 in. and 4 in. diameter.
Number of heads to be diverted: Four.
Purpose for which water to be used: Butter-factory, and, if surplus available, for town domestic supply.
Proposed term of license: Forty-two years.

VOLUNTARY WINDING-UP.
In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908; and in the matter of MELROSE PRESBYTERIAN COLLEGE (LIMITED).
AT an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company held on the 15th day of December, 1922, the following resolution was duly passed in accordance with the provisions of section 220 (c) of the Companies Act, 1908:—
“That it has been proved to the satisfaction of the company that the company cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same,
and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily under the provisions of the Companies Act, 1908, and its amendments; and that Mr. J. B. REID, of Invercargill, Public Accountant, be and is hereby appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up.”

BOROUGH OF THAMES.
DECLARATION OF POLL ON PROPOSAL THAT THE ADOPTION OF THE SYSTEM OF RATING ON THE UNIMPROVED VALUE BE RESCINDED.
PURSUANT to section 39 of the Rating Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Thames was taken on the 12th day of December, 1922, on the proposal that the adoption of the system of rating property on the basis of the unimproved value thereof be rescinded in the Borough of Thames.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 236, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 407. The number of informal votes was 8.
I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected.
